Most merciful God, we confess that we have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what we have done, and by what we have left undone. We have not loved you with our whole heart; we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves. We are truly sorry and we humbly repent. For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on us and forgive us; that we may delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of your Name. Amen. A brief silence is kept Grant your faithful people, merciful Lord, pardon and peace; that we may be cleansed from all our sins, and serve you with a quiet mind; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving* and raise a loud shout to him with psalms.   For the Lord is a great God,* and a great King above all gods. In his hand are the caverns of the earth,* and the heights of the hills are his also. The sea is his, for he made it,* and his hands have molded the dry land.   O come, let us worship and bow down,* and kneel before the Lord our Maker. For he is our God,* and we are the people of his pasture and the sheep of his hand. Today, if you hear his voice,* do not harden your heart as in the rebellion.   O worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness;* let the whole earth stand in awe of him. For he comes, for he comes to judge the earth* and with righteousness to judge the world and the peoples in his faithfulness.   Psalter The appointed Psalm is read together Psalm 96 1  O sing to the LORD a new song; * sing to the LORD, all the earth. 2  Sing to the LORD, bless his name; * proclaim his salvation from day to day. 3  Declare his glory among the nations, * his marvelous works among all peoples. 4  For great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; * he is to be feared above all gods. 5  For all the gods of the nations are worthless idols, * but the LORD made the heavens. 6  Splendor and majesty are before him; * strength and beauty are in his sanctuary. 7  Ascribe to the LORD, O you families of the nations, * ascribe to the LORD glory and strength. 8  Ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name; * bring an offering and come into his courts. 9  Worship the LORD in the splendor of holiness; * tremble before him, all the earth. 10  Say among the nations, “The LORD reigns; the world is firmly established, it shall not be moved; * he will judge the peoples with equity." 11  Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad; * let the sea roar, and all that is in it. 12  Let the fields exult, and everything in them; * then all the trees of the forest will sing for joy before the LORD, 13  for he comes, for he comes to judge the earth; * he will judge the world in righteousness
