By this we know what love is: Jesus laid down His life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers. — 1 John 3:16Christ's death redefines love as costly sacrifice that gives life to others. This is not merely an example but the very power that enables us to love one another. Because He first laid down His life, we are freed to pour out ours for the church.
