In this episode of the Mortal and Strong podcast, Dr Liz is joined by the lovely Dr Julie. Dr Julie tells her story of late miscarriage and post partum depression, sharing invaluable insight into the emotional trauma of losing a baby and the long term effects of said loss. Julie talks so openly and honestly about this difficult time in her life, and also discusses how the fear and anxiety of losing a baby carried over into her other pregnancies - something she wishes she could have enjoyed more. Dr Julie shares her advice for people going through a similar time, encouraging people to seek help when they need it, and talk about their feelings; reiterating you are not along in this journey, and things can get better. Julie tells us how she was adamant in turning her pain into purpose, while also using her medical knowledge as a GP to create change from within, she touches on her upcoming book all about the 4th trimester and hopes to help people better understand the mental and physical complications of pregnancy, baby loss, and the post partum experience.
