Mother Mary’s role in the Resurrection story

Mary believed in her son’s resurrection and trusted in His words and promise that He is alive and will rise from the dead. At the annunciation, Mary became the link between Christ’s humanity and our own. At the resurrection, Mary completed this link by cooperating with Jesus to restore our relationship with God.Mary’s role in the resurrection is that of a silent witness and an intense participant. Although Mary suffered the darkness of Christ’s passion and death, she never lost her faith in God’s plan. She teaches us that faith does not guarantee the absence of suffering, but it does promise that suffering is not the end of the story.Her continued YES offers us a model of total surrender and faith in God’s divine will.
