Mothman, the Silver Bridge Collapse & the Paranormal Mystery of Point Pleasant

from Codega's Codex of Curiosities · host Rye

In this episode of Codega’s Codex of Curiosities, we unravel one of history’s most mysterious paranormal cases—the legend of Mothman and its eerie connection to the 1967 Silver Bridge collapse in Point Pleasant, West Virginia. Our guests, Bill and Jaci Kousoulas, are the authors of Bridging the Tragedy and have spent years researching Mothman sightings, UFO activity, and the Men in Black that plagued the area leading up to the disaster. But beyond the mystery, they’ve uncovered something even more profound—the lasting psychological impact on those who survived. In this discussion, we explore: ✅ The Mothman prophecies—Was it a warning or something else?✅ The Silver Bridge disaster—What really happened that fateful night?✅ How paranormal encounters can lead to post-traumatic growth and transformation.✅ The strange connection between UFOs, cryptids, and human consciousness.Jaci and Bill Kousoulas are Phenomenology Research Professionals (PRP). We are the authors of "Bridging the Tragedy," a psychological study based upon the 1967 Silver Bridge Disaster in Point Pleasant, WV, Mothman, and post-traumatic growth, a phenomenon that often occurs after tragedy. We are qualitative researchers who seek to understand the connections between psychology, spirituality, and the paranormal by applying the scientific method.   Bill’s interest in the paranormal began in the late seventies with the original Project UFO television series. In 2003, he was introduced to "The Mothman Prophecies" movie, and it changed his life. Jaci is a retired USPS Postmaster and a current business owner/operator. She specializes in research, data analytics, and “connecting the dots” between intuition, perception, and reality. She is a first-hand paranormal experiencer, including UFOs, disembodied voices, apparitions, and psychic phenomena.   In March 1, 2024, we embarked upon our next study, which investigates the relationship(s) between trauma and paranormal experiences. Like “Bridging the Tragedy,” we intend to focus on the positive outcomes that our participants have gained by experiencing these phenomena.
