3 Tips to help you build momentum: What is it that I am looking for motivation for? What excites or encourages me about that thing? Research It Learn about the habit, skill you want to improve. So for example if you want to sign up for a race- Look it up. Read about the distance- about the course- about the aid stations available/ How long will you need to train for it?  If you want to start going to the gym- but you don’t really know where to start there. What is a close gym? Read about it- Use a timeline- So -rather than having the idea- and then just kind of letting that idea die out- set a timeline for yourself. I will sign up for the race by 12 Monday. Sometimes things like races - may give you a timeline anyway- you’ll get some type of early bird discount for opting in early. I will meal plan every Monday at 12 pm. And then what does meal planning look like for you? Write out the menu- grocery shop- whatever Action feels better than inaction. It can be really easy to sit in a place of inaction. For a long time. Is this the career I should be pursuing- should I . Act. You will find out pretty quickly if that is going to work well for you or not. And keep a scientific method approach. You have your hypothesis and you are going to test it out. It is ok if you don’t strike gold the first go around, But chances are the actions you are taking are going to make it easy for you to keep taking action. Remember that is easier to keep the bike going than it is to clip and unclip your shoes all the time. Sometimes we do tip over - or fall off the bike. Get yourself back on a quick as you can because likely- it’s just your ego that is bruised. What is going to make you feel better - riding that bike. Momentum is about action.
