What began as a small independent label grew into a cultural phenomenon that transformed American popular music, introducing the world to iconic artists including Marvin Gaye, Diana Ross and the Supremes, Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson and the Miracles, The Temptations, The Four Tops, Martha Reeves and the Vandellas, The Jackson 5, and many others.
