I'll do it Texas is gonna be in trouble I think I think of the SEC because they're not they're not Texas Texas is not back yet They've been almost back for a while and I think I think it'd be a big mistake So I assume that any team goes a tax Oklahoma will succeed in the SEC just because they will they're already Let me Texas difficult Oklahoma has ruled a 12 for whatever half a decade more plus But they'll get SEC players they'll start recruiting SEC talent everyone will probably like they'll just assimilate They don't probably get the shake it down for a little bit But not even like Oklahoma if they went in the SEC they would compete with everyone But I'll understand that because Texas right now they're not the same or good base Which is gonna be the same Texas and they're gonna split the recruits Oklahoma like they always do but now they're gonna lose I think more the Texas players others will in the SEC No, I think you can't but if you can't dominate in the big 12 being Texas and being the only school with a long-court network And all that extra money coming in how do you think that it's gonna be better for you going into a harder conference where they already have the More money though the competition like when you're recruiting SEC players you basically say hey we're playing the SEC with these guys They'll be able to dip in the talent pools that they don't dip into I don't think it's excellent I don't think that they are gonna be dipping it. It's actually them went from the big 12 to the SEC They've estimated very nicely they're competing at a different level now then they were you could make the argument Texas a m has a path now to maybe people national change if they were I don't want to start all arguments But they were just right there last year Yeah, they were fifth and it could have been fourth if you look at a different way So like I don't know that has as much time. I don't think that as much as we've been recruiting as it does with coaching and the entire program It's actually being in just the shittiest possible position for the last 15 years.

They just turn them out I want to see some teams that are just nowhere close to being either south nor east start joining the SEC because once that happens We know they're realign and stuff like once Ohio State tries to join the SEC then we know that realignment is it's at door Yeah, full realign into the fourth for early team. What's the vibe like? Yeah? Last time I saw you guys I think it was a little bit divided by any I was knocking on the door to get you guys out of my room. Yes, okay If you were gonna hang out there, but you know we've all been through a lot You know 18 months of real challenge and sometimes we're we are excited to have the first full stadium We've been for for all in 18 months that we will have a whole thing game They'll kick off the NFL's 100 seconds season and then we're gonna have a couple great instruments Goldjacket presentation.
It is gonna be I think one of the greatest veterans of the whatever well 161 hall of fameers Fox will do the game and then they have a little bit of a handle with the insurance and I hope somehow you guys have the opportunity to come here Be part of it and come visit your goldfish. We took care of nine We're awesome us the last night of the draft Saturday night of the draft and it's right those post in the hall of They're just 19 so on Saturday night we will do Let's see we'll do a letter to guys and then the rest will be done 12 o'clock Yes, I will do seven on Sunday night and then we class of 2021 and what we've done this year is we've asked guys to keep your Teachers to students and at eight minutes we will play off like the Academy of words We're guys yet and if they don't leave finally so we have to do out there and drag But I think everybody is inviting by that and doing a good job and I think it's gonna be really really special So this class like PFT said has some big names I was watching the video of you presenting a little different because it was something had to be outside So it wasn't all knocks the pig manning one though I was very curious he did great job surprising him But can you surprise pig manning with the whole thing because he was born a hall of fame like he knew he was gonna be in the hall of fame Essentially his entire career was there a moment maybe when the cameras were off. It's like yeah I knew this was gonna happen maybe not exactly like this But we obviously we're gonna have this interaction at some point, you know We can't I'll tell you I'm not sure if it's entire life He thought it was gonna be a hall of fame because at some point he was an eight year old or ten year old guy It was starting that journey and he started with an incredible dad or a humanity I just love our G he's done so much of the game, but you know his dream was to probably be the best he could be and He knew he took 10 seconds for him to the hall of fame, you know my chapel from Indianapolis It was presentation and I think always that was pig manning drop a mic Yeah, and you didn't have to make a presentation everybody knew he was a pig knew I was gonna be not that is where I knew I was gonna be not as well But why was it was how could we do it effectively so frankly? Patence wife and you know some of the guys Patrick's life that we did about those helped us a great deal and we were trying to create something that we special For him to be a great respect for the people who invested in his life and so we had his high school coach Video we had college coaches some of them were a person We had his every pro coach that had coached him it kind of be there in my high and then finally I walked in and I want to say it was special for him and here's what I learned about this and I know you guys love the game So go get this When we when I told him that he was only candid and we were gonna guard his legacy forever Thank you for all these unforgane. I don't think I was telling that 45 year old college pitchhand that we know pick man to be I think I was telling that eight year older can you all get with all these people who helped him get here And it was it was dramatic.
It was a special and then we went on to a number of butterflies That night I ended up with a child adjustment yeah I want to ask question about Calvin was there any moment where you like hey Calvin are you really retired because he's a guy who could Step into tomorrow and produce an NFL team. We retired a little short Did that ever come up in the conversation when you guys did the you know deciding who's in the class or maybe when you knocked on his door? Yeah, it didn't come up in my conversation for us We were talking about what he contributed already and when I got there, you know like 10 o'clock at night It was 19 degrees below zero. I'm not a story he comes like we were allowed to go inside because I felt hold it policy So yeah, he's barefoot and and again, he was overwhelmed.
He was crying and at the end of the time when you know guys He turns to me and he says are you going back again and I said no, we got a few orders not done And I'll never forget what he said you go collect more tears on you And again, that's what it means to these guys. They're not thinking about how much money they're not thinking about their statistics They're thinking about their journey. They're not the mom and dad or dad who kept them from going to the mother to the practice or The coach that helped them to be more of a teammates and down there. It was a very very cool You mentioned you mentioned archen Manning But also I feel like we talked a little bit about Olivia Manning I feel like Olivia Manning should be nominated for the whole theme asking tribute because archen Manning had a solid career right pretty good for the saints But was not a whole famer his sons are now whole famous where do you think they got that extra boost from probably for Olivia right?
Christian the cap for everybody because it's every every his mom was a world-class runner I think that's what people heard. I think that's true. I got you play. You know the dad kind of provide him some Education to encourage with their moms are the ones who people go in and give them the love to never give up But yeah, Olivia and I got to know Archie was a special man not just a football player But I've always regarded him as one of the great fathers.
He's a whole thing father Not because it was him kids did but Archie lost his dad when he was a sophomore in Mississippi and I think he Understood how important was for him to be a dad to not only to paint and be like a do a dober And again, that's the cool part about this job. I think everything should have this job. He's good Let's let everybody go for a day because not only do you get to deliver some great news or give a goal check But you get to see behind the scenes the real emotions the real perseverance the real courage I made these guys great. I mean recycling for you and your fans and listeners We all think they felt a lot of great and I'm here to tell you that they all had overcome something I had overcome it again and again, and it's it is pretty cool that we get to see it and hopefully from that guys Learn that you don't have to be a football player to have a whole thing life and frankly You know watch him dead and learning from them and make you guys better run out Just make me a better dad to make us a better community in a better country So can you walk us through what the process was of getting Roger Dell's chair inducted into the whole fan?

I mean look at Alex Smith. Those uses. You know when the Broncos and have a good fourth Okay, but 1000 guys are practice one when they've enjoyed to have a coach Okay, they found guys out of the film of the government everybody kept going and it came together and they carried on and So that was a great message that if they could do that maybe we can get our time to go Yeah, you're your optimist and a great diplomat.
