Hi, this is Pastor Diego. Welcome to the daily five. Thank you for joining us today. This podcast is designed to give you a short daily Five-minute word of encouragement to inspire you to think and act on God's word Welcome to today's episode today's episode is called mountaintop moment and it's about our experience with God's presence What is your experience been with the presence of God?

Has it always been something distant? Has it always been something superficial or is the your experience with the presence of God something really significant in today's podcast? We're gonna take a look at some of the experiences and encounters that Moses had with God and what we can learn from them Few human beings have experienced God on this earth to the degree that Moses did. After meeting God in the burning bush Moses went on to part the Red Sea.

He watched the man of fall from heaven He saw the ten plagues and he saw many other supernatural miracles Moses saw much more of God than many of us will ever during our lifetime for example After eating the Israelite people to mount Sinai after walking and leading them through the Red Sea Which part didn't have God met with Moses on top of a mountain And there was a thick cloud on top that descended on the mountain and there was lightning and God didn't allow anyone else To come close to that mountain except for Moses on that particular day No one was to enter into the presence of God except for Moses It was kind of like a nightclub that you see with like a line of people waiting outside waiting to get in and God Roped off the top of the mountain and only Moses had VIP access into his presence Moses spent time on that mountain with God a lot of time Moses experienced the intensity of the presence of God that you and I Can't even comprehend and you know what happened the more of God that Moses got the more that he wanted even after being on the Mountaintop Moses wanted more and Moses that wasn't the only time because Moses also used to meet with God in a tent It was called the tent of the meeting and the same cloud that descended on the mountain that day on Mount Sinai would come down on The tent and God would talk to Moses and Exodus chapter 18 It says that God knew Moses by name and spoke to him as a friend So Moses and God developed a really good relationship in those encounters But you know what it still wasn't enough because Moses makes a request to God and he says to God in Exodus 33 18 He says please show me your glory in other words, Moses hadn't seen enough or experienced enough This was a man who spoke with God like one human being speaks to another he could audibly hear God's voice But it wasn't enough for him He desired to go from a relational presence to a visible presence after everything he had experienced and everything he'd gone through He wasn't satisfied He wanted to physically see God himself and we can learn something from Moses From Moses we learned that there is a pattern of developing a deep relationship with God the more Moses God of God the more Moses wanted of God same for us the more we experience God in this life the more of God we're gonna desire But the reverse is also true the less time you spend with God the less you desire to be with God You may be saying to yourself right now, but how do I enter into God's presence? I don't really like praying or even reading my Bible I really don't even have the desire to spend hours in the presence of God right now The good news is that you can end up having a profoundly deep and life-changing relationship with the Creator the universe in the same way that Moses did But it's gonna be a process just like it was a process for Moses Moses didn't always have access to the presence of God the first time Moses had as an encounter with God in the burning bush It was way different from what we read about in Exodus 33 He was afraid the Bible says that he turned his face from God that he hid from God and maybe that's where you find yourself right now But I assure you that just like Moses you can develop a fulfilling personal relationship with God But it's gonna take some time and let me finish with this You have to put in the correct perspective what the presence of God means I'm sure you've probably experienced times where you felt really distant from distant from God and what happens is that we interpret closeness to God and intimacy with God as a reward and we interpret distance from God as punishment the feeling of distance from God doesn't Mean that you're far from God in a sinful relational or punishing way sometimes distance can be a result of sin But other times you may just be realizing that being far from God means that you miss him because you love him Let me suggest that your ability to sense the absence of God's presence is actually a clue to the depth of your relationship with God So let your feelings of the absence of God's presence drive you to seek to be close to him And let me tell you what just like Moses the closer you get the more you're gonna want to be with him See you tomorrow.
