movements

from The DMZ · host Mike DeMaio

Featuring songs from the compilation series "movements." The idea behind this series which was compiled in Germany by music maven Tobias Kirmayer, was to find and preserve great american music that is at risk of being lost or forgotten. Since its original release in 2005, this series reached Vol. 9 in 2014, all the while maintaining its ability to find some real funk pearls! (not to mention the jazz, soul and rock & roll) This episode is an homage to those who worked hard finding this incredible music. Enjoy! There's a Wrinkle in Our Time - 1984, Don't Give A Damn - King Cain Silvertone Band, Wahoo, Wahoo, Wahoo - Wayne Carter, No No No Momento - Rick & The Entire World, Nobody Loves Me Like My Baby - Jimmy Clifford, The Serpent Speaks - Solar Plexus, Baby, You've Got Soul - Iris Bell Trio, Angel Food - The Port Angels, You Ain't My Brother - The Soulshakers, Backlash - Fats Gaines Orchestra, Soul Chicken - Bobby Allen & The Exceptions, The Deep End - Ray Johnson, Warm Daddy's Choice - River Front Band, Hearts Are Jumping - The Eminent Stars, Summertime - Dave Harris Trio, Stop Stuffin and Start Sho Nuffin - Ray Witherspoon, Suffering With A Hangover Pt. 1 - Billy Young, Thanks For Waiting - Arnold Albury and The Casuals
