Movie theaters throughout the U.S. will celebrate National Popcorn Day

Movie-theaters across the country will take part in this year’s “National Popcorn Day”—on Thursday, January 19th. Jackie Brenneman is “The Cinema Foundation’s” president… “Popcorn and movie-theaters are practically synonymous. And, while ‘National Popcorn Day’ is a long-standing event, we wanted to make it extra-special this year: Theaters across the country are stepping up, with a wide range of promotions—such as discounted prices, unlimited refills, free popcorn with the purchase of a drink, or even completely free popcorn. According to a survey by our partners at ‘Fandango’, four-in-five moviegoers believe that refreshments are important to the in-theater experience—while even more believe that movie-theater popcorn just tastes better.” The participating theaters comprise more than 34-thousand screens, nationwide.
