2023 is begonnen en daarmee beginnen we ook weer aan een nieuw filmjaar. Johan en Dennis zijn dit filmjaar begonnen met M3gan, een film die flink werd gehyped op social media. Ook lijkt het er nu al op dat dit misschien wel een nieuw horror-icoon moet gaan worden zoals bijvoorbeeld Chucky dat ook is. Maar is M3gan een gewone standaard pop in een horrorfilm? Of is er meer te zeggen over deze creatie van James Wan? Om in de poppenfilms te blijven hebben Johan en Dennis ook ieder hun eigen top 5 van poppenfilms gemaakt. De regels zijn wel zo dat het moet gaan om een pop die in iemands leven is of komt, en dat er dus ook wat meer gebeurd. Dat betekent dus  dat films waar de personages gespeeld worden door poppen niet in aanmerking komen. Anders zou deze aflevering van de MovieMeter Filmpodcast waarschijnlijk een hele Jim Henson-aflevering zijn geworden. Ook leuk, maar die bewaren we voor een andere keer!
