Movies and TV Haunt My Mind

"The Blob," originally released in 1958, had its rerelease in 1964. It was the first film that frightened me in a movie theater. Hey, I was only six! With the help of Brian Thomas, Sinister Minister of the Chicago Psychotronic Film Society and my own research, I remember those productions that planted the other terrors in my mind. I saw them on TV as a child. They include "House on Haunted Hill" and an episode of the TV show "Thriller" ("Well of Doom”) with its ghostly watery pit. If memory serves, the promotional trailers that ran on TV for "The Space Children" and "Village of the Damned" were all that was necessary to cause my fear of psychic children from outer space. I mentally merged those two movie trailers into an imaginary film that haunted me but that I wanted to see: "The Children from Outer Space." I can still remember the voice in the trailer that my childhood imagination fabricated saying in a slow, ponderous tone: THE CHILDREN FROM OUTER SPACE! This audio recording was made in August of 2023.
