Moving Bodies

from latheatreworks · host latheatreworks

Episodes from the life of Richard Feynman, one of the most distinctive personalities – and visionary thinkers – in modern science. As a young man, Feynman worked on the development of the atomic bomb under the Manhattan Project before winning the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1965. His science lectures at the California Institute of Technology became the basis for a milestone series of books, "The Feynman Lectures on Physics." And later in life, he played a pivotal role in the Rogers Commission, which investigated the 1986 Challenger shuttle disaster. This play is part of L.A. Theatre Works’ Relativity Series featuring science-themed plays. Major funding for the Relativity Series is provided by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, to enhance public understanding of science and technology in the modern world. "Moving Bodies" by Arthur Giron stars Alfred Molina as Richard Feynman. With Emily Bergl, Jessica Chastain, Jill Gascoigne, Matthew Gaydos, Harry Groener, Arye Gross, Kathryn Hahn, Mark Harelick, Katharine Leonard, Mary McGowan, Alec Medlock, Jenny O’Hara, Raphael Sbarge, Joe Spano, and John Vickery. Bongos played by Eric Sokol. Live piano by Adam Chevitz. Live sound effects by Tracy Pattin, Mark Holden, and Rosalind Ayres. Recording, editing, and mixing engineer: Mark Holden for Voice Box Studios. Our director is Rosalind Ayres.
