Moving the Goal Posts Back to Basics

from Weaver of My Web · host Erika Ryles - The Master Fire Weaver

This episode is about dragging your overcomplicated, over-intellectualized, trauma-soaked brain back to square one. Elementary basics. Crayons. Stick figures. Because apparently adulthood broke everyone’s ability to understand cause and effect.Life is an ouroboros. It eats itself, repeats itself, and keeps slapping you with the same lesson until you stop playing victim and start paying attention. Healing does not require a 12-step spiritual scavenger hunt or a miracle pill with zero side effects. It requires self-awareness. Real self-awareness. The kind where you ask, “What did I do to cause or worsen this?” instead of immediately auditioning for the role of perpetual casualty.Understanding follows accountability. When you see how your choices affect your present and ripple into other people’s futures, you stop moving like a wrecking ball and start moving with intention. That’s how you walk through life with peace instead of dragging chaos behind you like a busted shopping cart. Here’s the part people hate: most people don’t actually want to heal. They like talking about healing. They like the identity. The aesthetic. The excuses. But they don’t want to give up the habits, people, substances, or distractions they use as emotional bubble wrap. Wanting to heal means letting go of the very things you’ve been using to avoid feeling anything at all. No band-aids. No numbing. No half-ass vulnerability. You face it. You feel it. You release it. Anything less is just theater.Half-assed healing is no different than doing nothing. You either commit or you stay stuck. Then we talk about goals. People set them either six inches away or across the damn planet. Both are useless. Too close and you stagnate. Too far and you sabotage yourself. Growth requires stretch, not self-destruction. Stop booby-trapping your own field and calling it “fate.”High standards are not arrogance. They’re boundaries with teeth. When you carry yourself correctly, people come correct or they don’t come at all. That alone elevates everyone in your orbit. You don’t drag people up by force. You become the standard they either rise to or fall away from. This is how universes are built. One disciplined decision at a time. Be a star so others can become suns. And stop pretending confusion is depth. It’s so not. Just like saying you're healing without action is not actually healing. It's acting with no supporting cast.
