‘Moving Through Grief’ With Certified Movement Professional, Ashley Farrar

from The Power of Love Show · host TJ Jackson

On this episode of The Power of Love Show we welcome Certified Movement Professional & Founder of ‘Inspired To Move’ and ‘@MovingThroughGrief’, Ashley Farrar. Ashley is a neurodivergent mom of three, a nature lover, and a voracious reader. Ashley fell in love with moving when she was young, because even as a child, she says, the movement of her body and mind made everything feel better. It changed her. It built resiliency. As she got older, she drifted into who she thought the world expected her to be. She went to the school, got the job, and slowly lost the connection to herself that movement had always fostered. Ashley had been living with chronic pain for over ten years when her world fell apart. Her mother and uncle were killed in a car accident, followed by the sudden death of her father two years later. The constant physical and emotional pain was unbearable. Ashley’s grief journey forced her to re-connect with her needs. She began relying heavily on movement and meditation as tools of healing and self-connection. By doing so, she learned that she could trust her inner voice, and that she had the courage to meet her own needs, despite the expectations of others. As a Certified Movement Professional, Ashley strives to create spaces where her clients can show up boldly and unapologetically.  Ashley aims for her clients to have a movement toolbox filled with strategies that guide them towards finding their ‘just-right’ challenge, so that they can change movement to work for them, instead of the other way around. In her work, Ashley creates experiences that foster curiosity, connection, and compassion and allow grievers and other feeling people to be (im)perfectly human together.
