Mr. David-Knock Da Fire (Out Dat Thang)

After decades of musical impact and a legacy that still echoes through speakers everywhere, Mr. David, formerly known as Pressha, the voice behind the iconic platinum hit “Splackavellie” on LaFace Records—is back and ready to shake the airwaves again. Reuniting with his longtime friend and industry powerhouse Tony Mercedes, Mr. David is turning the volume up with a fiery new Southern Soul anthem titled “Knock Da Fire (Out Dat Thang)”—a bold, feel-good record that’s as raw, real, and irresistible as ever. “The single is insane,” says Tony Mercedes, the former LaFace executive and mastermind behind multiple chart-topping records. “Mr. David hasn't missed a step. He still knows exactly how to touch the soul and move the people.” Known for his smooth vocals, unfiltered storytelling, and unforgettable Southern swagger, Mr. David brings grown-up music back to the frontlines. He blends classic soul, blues, and a whole lot of attitude in a track destined for dance floors, juke joints, and back porch cookouts across the South and beyond. “Knock Da Fire” is a grown and sexy party starter—a record for the line dance lovers, the steppers, and anyone who appreciates music that speaks to real life, real passion, and real people. With Mercedes back in the driver’s seat and Mr. David back on the mic, this dynamic duo proves lightning can strike twice… and this time, it's hitting with Southern Soul heat. “Knock Da Fire (Out Dat Thang)” will be available on all streaming platforms on May 22, 2025. DJs, radio stations, and soul music fans—get ready. Mr. David is back, and he’s coming for the crown.
