This album was a milestone for Gaye, as it advanced him artistically, socially, and lyrically; We go deep into not only the glorious music, but the messages in the lyrics.  This album chronicled a turbulent time in America's history and in particular how it related to those who lived in the inner cities. Fifty years later, many of the lyrical themes here still ring true and this is an album that still holds up in every way these five decades later.
