Mr. M Wins MI Teacher of the Year!

Lake Orion High School teacher Mr. Erik Meerschaert was named the Michigan Teacher of the Year on Wednesday, May 6, 2026. In a surprise reveal, hundreds of LOHS students, and dozens of guests (including his family, colleagues, district and township officials, and State of MI Department of Education representatives) gathered in the Performing Arts Center for the announcement.
