MRP 119: Carbon Intensity of U.S. Oil Production Compared to OPEC and Russia

from The Mineral Rights Podcast: Mineral Rights | Royalties | Oil and Gas | Matt Sands · host Matt Sands

As the Washington Post recently reported, Joe Biden made "the embarrassing move to call on OPEC and its allies to boost oil production as pump prices climb, underscoring alarm over the U.S. loss of energy independence under President Biden."  By asking OPEC and its allies like Russia to increase oil production, will this actually result in increased CO2 emissions versus if he had asked domestic producers to increase production? We were surprised at what we discovered. As always, links to the show notes can be found at mineralrightspodcast.com.
