Ms. Donna Cowdrey and her late husband, U.S. Marine Brigadier General Christian B. Cowdrey, relied on Catholic military chaplains to access the sacraments and practice their faith through decades of service that included his deployment to Beirut at the time of the 1983 terrorist bombing that killed 241 American servicemen at the Marine Corps barracks there.
