Mural Reclaims Five Points Pride | Jacksonville News

A stunning new mural titled Constellations of Us has emerged in Jacksonville’s Five Points, glowing with 21 diverse figures celebrating the neighborhood’s vibrant LGBTQ+ community. Created by local artist Shaun Thurston after the city painted over rainbow crosswalks—a move seen as an attack on visibility—the mural is a defiant, healing tribute to resilience and inclusion. Funded by community partners and painted over 20 days, it transforms the streetscape into a living testament: even when erased, the community’s spirit shines brighter, louder, and more beautifully than ever.
