Murder In Moscow: Was Madison Mogen The Target Of The Attack?

from The Moscow Murders and More · host Bobby Capucci

A  theory had suggested that Madison Mogen may have been Bryan Kohberger’s intended target when he entered the King Road residence and murdered Mogen, Kaylee Goncalves, Xana Kernodle and Ethan Chapin. Forensic psychologist Dr. Gary Brucato argued that the attack appeared to have been driven by a violent psychosexual fantasy rather than a plan to kill everyone inside the house. Brucato believed Kohberger had gone directly to Mogen’s third-floor bedroom expecting to find her alone, only to discover that Goncalves was sharing the bed with her that night. Under that theory, Goncalves became an unexpected victim because she had interrupted the scenario Kohberger had allegedly imagined.Brucato pointed to the location of the first attack, the victims’ injuries and Kohberger’s apparent familiarity with the house as support for his interpretation. He theorized that the killings of Kernodle and Chapin followed after Kohberger encountered people who could identify him or interfere with his escape, turning an allegedly targeted attack into a four-person massacre. However, authorities had never publicly established a motive or confirmed that Mogen, Goncalves or any other individual had been specifically targeted. The theory remained an expert’s interpretation of the available evidence rather than a proven conclusion about why Kohberger committed the murders.to contact me:[email protected]:Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-moscow-murders-and-more--5852883/support.
