He then ends up killing the inmate that ratted out their escape attempt and is put on trial. Slater plays Young’s defense attorney who is unluckily assigned the case by the public defender. Oldman plays the sadistic assistant warden of Alcatraz who enjoys torturing Young. The movie goes over the trial and the subsequent verdict.
