Anthony stabbed Metcalf after an altercation, and Metcalf died of his injuries. Anthony surrendered himself to authorities soon after the stabbing and was charged with murder. He pled not guilty, alleging self-defense. Anthony was found guilty of murder on June 9, 2026, after an 8-day trial. He was sentenced to 35 years in prison later that day.
