Murder on the High Seas
from True Crime Never Sleeps Hosted by True Crime Never Sleeps
In this heartbreaking episode, we dive into the tragic story of Thomas and Jackie Hawks—a loving, adventurous couple who had just retired and were living their dream life sailing the California coast. After selling their yacht, Well Deserved, to a seemingly eager young couple, they vanished without a trace. What began as an exciting new chapter for the Hawks quickly unraveled into one of the most shocking and senseless crimes Newport Beach has ever seen. As investigators peel back the layers of deceit, a disturbing tale of greed, betrayal, and cold-blooded murder comes to light. You’ll hear how a former child actor turned con artist manipulated his way into the Hawks’ lives, and the brutal, calculated plan that ended with two innocent people being tied to an anchor and thrown overboard. We also discuss the aftermath of the trial, the controversial confession that came years later, and the emotional reactions from both the victims’ families and listeners alike.
