Mushrooms and Toadstools

Poisonous toadstools are not always obviously toxic or distinguishable from an edible mushroom. Eating one may even take a couple of days to take effect and sometimes prove fatal. However knowledgeable we may generally consider ourselves to be, we all need discernment to differentiate between good and bad, right and wrong. In the Gospel of Matthew 24:24 we read of Jesus's warning, "For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect". This message is a poignant reminder to stick close to God for His protection and the gift of discernment which He can bless us with.
