Hello everybody, welcome back to another episode of Broken Record. My name is Ellie, I'm your host, and today we are going to be talking about finals week because tomorrow is the first day of finals. That is awful. I hate saying that.
I'm so scared. I have five out of seven finals. That is... I hate that.
I actually... I'm dreading the next couple days so much, but it's okay, one second over with, I get it over with, and then it'll be done. But anyway, I thought it would be a good time to talk about what I listen to when I study because finals week includes a lot of studying. So I have a lot of playlists that I listen to.
I actually don't have a lot of playlists. I have like three main things that I listen to when I'm studying. So when I'm in class, I listen to anything by Gracey Abrams. I just go onto my music app and I find Gracey Abrams' name and artist, and then I just shuffle whatever music I have saved.
And I think I have all of her music saved. Yeah, so I just listen to Gracey Abrams' music because majority of it is slow, and I just... I love listening to... I can either listen to instrumental music, which we'll get into later, or I can listen to the slow music with words.
And so, most of Gracey's work is slow, so that's nice. And yeah, I listen to that a lot when I am working in class. I also... There was a period of time where I listen to Phoebe Bridgers a lot.
I would again just shuffle her music and listen to that while I was doing work in class. But usually when I'm at home, it's a little bit harder to focus. So I usually stick to the instrumental music. I love listening to the 2019 Little Women soundtrack.
I listen to that in an embarrassing amount a couple years ago. Like, so many songs from that album were my top-played songs of the year, because I used to just study it and I fell asleep to it. Just something about that music, man. It works wonders.
I love this album. It's so good. The soundtrack is amazing. I love listening to Ice Skating and The Beach and Amy and Joe Wright's...
Oh my gosh, Joe Wright's. I listen to that all the time. But yeah, I love that album. I also listen to another movie soundtrack, Call Me By Your Name.
I listen to that soundtrack all the time. I love it so much. It's incredible. Not all the songs are available in the US or, I don't know, whenever I try and play certain songs it says this song is not available, or this song is not currently available in your country or region.
So I don't really know where I have to go to listen to it, but I'm willing to travel there. But I actually have this album or this soundtrack on vinyl, so I can't listen to some of the songs, but I want to be able to listen to them on the go too. But whatever it's fine. But no, I love listening to this.
This is more of like, this movie takes place in like the summertime. So these are a little bit more upbeat instrumental songs, but there are a couple good ones that are like really get me to dial in, but I love it. There's also most of these are in a different language, so I can't pronounce them, but they're good. Yeah.
Oh, there's one song by Phineas that I also listen to a lot during finals week. It's called Peaches Attued. It's a piano instrumental song. So good.
I listen to it all the time. I probably listen to it more than I should, being that it's a song without words, but whatever. I think it's great. I also listen to Kiss In The Kitchen.
That's a playlist I made. It's basically just a bunch of old music, like from the 40s 50s era. I love it so much. I listen to this year round.
Like, I just, this is one of my favorite playlists that I've ever made. It's incredible. It has like Ed James, Knocking Cole, Frank Sinatra, Clarence Frogman, Henry, Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald, Benny King, Henry James, like Miller, like it's so good. I love it so much.
It's incredible. Oh my gosh. You know what I just remembered? Stevie Nicks yesterday announced that she's going on tour and she's coming to Seattle, and I'm so happy.
Oh my gosh. I've been wanting to see Stevie first so long. I love Stevie Nicks of my whole heart, and I'm so excited. I'm just so excited.
She's gonna be incredible. This is gonna be outstanding. I will update you further if I get tickets, but they're not on sale yet. They go on sale on Friday, and I really hope I get tickets because it's Stevie Nicks.
I mean, who doesn't want to see Stevie Nicks in concert? Oh my god. I'm so excited. Okay.
That was a topic at all, but whatever. It's okay. Thanks for listening to this episode. It was a quick little chat because finals week is stressful and sometimes music can help you calm down.
