Music Masala - Delnava

Music Masla - A Spicy Blend of Music and Life is an exciting Radio 4EB project! Over a period of six months, project staff spent days traipsing around south-east Queensland, discovering not just the music, but the passions and lifestyles of 11 culturally diverse artists. Delnava Ensemble is a classical/Traditional music ensemble founded in 2017 by Mohammad Javadi (vocalist and Tar player). Other artists in Delnava Ensemble are Mostafa Odabaei (Tombak player) and Azadeh Sham’ee (Oud Player). Iranian classical music relies on both improvisation and composition and is based on a series of modal scales and tunes. The common repertoire (Radif) consists of more than 200 short melodic motions (Goosheh), which are classified into seven modes (Dastgah).
