Musical Time Capsule

In this episode, TNE dives into the pricing of Nintendo Switch games, discussing Donkey Kong Bananza, Mario Kart World, and Kirby Air Rider, along with the rising costs of current titles and whether gamers are just paying for the brand names. Ken and Carlee debate the idea of playing games on day one versus avoiding preorders. They also break down the Tekken Season 2 changes, favorite fighting game characters, and the possibility of Virtua Fighter 6. The episode revisits last week’s discussion where Carlee analyzed Michael Jackson’s lyrics, claiming he carefully chose each word. This leads to a conversation about favorite female group members from TLC, Destiny’s Child, G.R.L., The Pussycat Dolls, and Spice Girls. Ken schools Carlee on Britney Spears’ accolades before the discussion shifts to KISS songs and Paul Stanley’s vocals. TNE also reacts to clips debating whether Frank Mitchell from Moesha was a bad father. This sparks a deeper dive into how late '80s-‘00s TV shows carried strong messages, including a breakdown of Girlfriends and Mya’s infidelity storyline. The team explores the differences in how men and women handle being hurt in relationships, leading to Ken sharing a real-life workplace incident involving sexual harassment and the unavoidable double standards surrounding these issues. Emphasizing their approach to discussing women’s issues without bashing, TNE reflects on Phylicia Rashad’s Breakfast Club interview before wrapping things up with the Open Mic segment, where they answer listener questions.
