Much of the news and analysis about generative AI for music focuses (with good reason) on unethical, exploitative uses. However, musical artists are increasingly exploring ways to use AI under their own control.This episode lists musicians who are taking AI for music into their own hands to proactively manage consent, control. credit, and compensation (the 4Cs). They include Holly Herndon, Grimes, FKA Twigs, Randy Travis, and Beanie Siegel. Natalie Cole and Paul McCartney have created songs 'with' deceased collaborators.
