from The Beautiful Dark Hosted by The Beautiful Dark

Musicians Unite Good creators Fine skillful souls You are Jedi for art Saviours of prose You help us talk When chats are hard You wade through the waters Where fear holds guard You help us see in the dark So don't give up great human lark Musicians Unite Union of zeal They'll try to dilute us We are armour for real Musicians Unite Union of zeal They can try' dilute us We are armour For real Sing your soul Cry your heart Mould it to sound Your way of art No fingers can prompt What you really feel So play it Compose it Share that heal Treats of therapy For you and us Keep putting order To this world of fuss Aesthetic of sight Musicians unite Feeling hearts bright Painting spirit with truth might We've nearly healed our Sunday (U2) So take me to church (Hozier) Pray we lose some digital creed (REM) The hurricane still needing our worth (Bob Dylan) Let's imagine that better Earth (John Lennon) Our wreath respects all fun way (Aretha Franklin) Sang out abuse of church (Sinead O'Connor) Zombies had some feel to seed (The Cranberries) New bills from holiday Trailblazer birth (Billie Holiday) Let's imagine that better Earth ________________________ This is a full build of the February live jam release I added a verse in this version at the end which pays homage to some of our great artists. The healing Sunday refers to U2, and the healing of conflict in Ireland. It hopes we can do that everywhere on the planet. We only heal that Sunday when all the fighting stops even outside of this lucky island. Line two is a reference to Hozier and a hope we can get rid of homophobia once and for all. REM takes line three, hoping we can get on top of tech addiction which is almost like a creed for people who no longer believe in religion. The new religion we need to lose maybe. Bob Dylan has line four and the hope mindless racism will one day disappear from our wonderful planet so we have less experiences like Rubin Carter had. We then have Imagine for line five, a reference to John Lennon who so beautifully showed us what we can achieve in the future if we want to, a better Earth for more people. Line six is bossed by Aretha Franklin giving us that soulful Respect Line seven is reserved for Sinead O'Connor who bravely called out abuse in the Catholic church at a time they were still immune to proper moral scrutiny so helped trailblaze that change Delores O'Riordan comes next for her great tune Zombie about being desensitised to hate and fighting too easily Billie Holiday also makes it in there for the rights she sang for all the way back in 1937 Thanks for the amazing inspiration. The songs I've used are examples of the difficult conversations they activate and for me show the important role songs made by human beings have in our culture. Here's to us retaining that deep appreciation that helps society evolve in positive directions with beautifully dressed truth. The explainer-er of the aesthetic of this AMAZING life.
