Send us Fan Mail What investors refuse to see: Elon Musk has already moved on from Tesla. The proposed trillion dollar pay incentive package is a desperate plea to keep him interested in the company. But one has to only keep tab of his interests and tweets to see that Optimus, SpaceX and most recently xAI and the rivalry with Sam Altman are where his passion lives. Perhaps the underperformance of the Cyber Truck played into it, or the increasingly outpacing Chinese EVs compared to Tesla’s own much more expensive and older tech models, European plummeting sales, led him to the logical conclusion that it was time to focus his energies elsewhere. The very public spat with the man in the most powerful position in this world, President Trump himself, might have helped him come to that conclusion. The end to the subsidies is yet another thing. Is there realistically a path for Tesla with Musk less invested or is it time for a new focused CEO to step in? But the recent approval could well mean the future of Tesla isn't cars, but rather AI, chips and Optimus and that owners may not see so much new features and the abandonment of FSD.
