It is Thursday. It is the 22nd of February. My name is Michael Kroos. This is the Daily Grateful.

And you just heard my phone ding, because I got a message from my pharmacy. Life is so damn exciting sometimes, except when it's not. And today is not what I would call an exciting day. But a day that I am extremely, extremely grateful for.

Today was my brother's memorial service at Bay Pines Cemetery, Bay Pines National Cemetery in St. Pete, Florida. It was a full military honors. It was just family and close friends.

There was a chaplain. There were a bunch of people from the Navy that were there that were part of the service. And there was us, the family, sitting there. I remember I used to make videos on YouTube about a memorial service that we do every year at Dunedin High School in Florida for the Vietnam veterans.

And one year, I just shot a video of the ceremony, and I put some music behind it. And my brother heard it. He saw the video, and he heard it. He called me up, and he said that was just the most incredible thing I'd ever heard.

And he said, I can't stop crying. And he said, when I go, I would like that song played. Well, I had no control of the service today. Strangely, they did not allow family contributions to the service that was a chaplain.

Because they had several services. I guess a lot of veterans choose to die. And they had a lot of services that were happening there. And that's fine, and that's good, and it was wonderful.

The name of the song is Keep Me in Your Heart. Shadows are falling, and I'm running out of breath. Keep me in your heart for a while. If I leave you, it doesn't mean I love you any less.

Keep me in your heart for a while. When you get up in the morning, and you see that crazy sun, keep me in your heart for a while. There's a train leaving nightly called When All is Seven Done. Keep me in your heart for a while.

Sometimes in the morning, when you're doing simple things around the house, maybe you'll think of me and smile. I know I'm tied to you like the buttons on your blouse. Keep me in your heart for a while. Hold me in your thoughts.

Take me in your dreams. Touch me as I fall into view. When winter comes, keep the fires lit, and I'll be right next to you. Engine's drivers heading north on Pleasant Stream.

Keep me in your heart for a while. These wheels keep turning, but they're running out of steam. Keep me in your heart for a while. Keep me in your heart for a while.

And I guess that's what we're all going to do. We're going to keep my brother, Aldo Charles Gross, in our hearts for a while. There was a poet who once said, To live in the lives of those you leave behind is not to die. For The Daily Grateful, I'm Michael Gross.

To live in the lives of those you leave behind is not to die. To live in the lives of those you leave behind is not to die. To live in the lives of those you leave behind is not to die. To live in the lives of those you leave behind is not to die.

To live in the lives of those you leave behind is not to die. Thank you.
