I was instantly locked out of my computer. I had never used the word "resign," I didn't provide a resignation date, and I certainly didn't write the kind of "thank you" letter a chaplain typically writes when officially stepping down. **My advice to my fellow chaplains and caregivers:** We often have huge hearts and feel deeply responsible for our patients, to the point where we try to plan for every slight possibility so they are never left without care.
