Having a conversation with a future neuropsychologist was fascinating & incredibly educational. Certainly, I had to share this conversation with all of you. When Christopher Howard tweeted out that he wanted to be on someone's podcast I answered. The result was two fascinating conversations about brains, brain health and more. This is our first one. Christopher is now hooked on being a podcast guest! We set out to discuss how African Americans are effected in significantly higher numbers than whites or Hispanics. However, our conversation went in many directions all of them fascinating and educational. Touching on the topics of stress, health disparities and even how racism can negatively affect the brain, we talked about everything. The best part of our conversation was hearing Christopher's passion. It is truly a joy to talk to someone who has found their calling through life experiences. That's what you get from hearing this conversation. Understanding all I can helps me navigate my journey with my Mom's Alzheimer's. Being aware of how different situations affect other people's journey is also beneficial. Plus, dynamic learning is good for our brains. While this conversation might not qualify as dynamic learning, I still learned a lot. I feel that knowledge makes me a better caregiver. It is my hope that this conversation helps you in your journey as a caregiver.
