My Defense is of God! (Psalm 7)

from Oklahoma City Reformed Presbyterian Church · host Oklahoma City Reformed Presbyterian Church

In Psalm 7, David is experiencing the injustice, persecution, and slander of a wicked man. His response to such adversity is to trust in his God, who is a judge and a defense. During the life of Jesus, He endured many similar attacks. He was falsely accused and persecuted at the hands of many different men. He endured such to procure for us the mercy of the Lord. Psalm 7 teaches us that we can trust in the Lord when injustice would overwhelm us because our defense is of God. It is a defense Christ earned for us on the cross, even as He Himself would cry out the words of this Psalm. Trust in Your God (1-2) Examine Your Heart (3-5) Cry Out to the Judge of the Earth (6-10) Believe God is a Just Judge (11-16) Give Glory to God (17)
