My Favourite Tip #6 - Living as geographically close to your ex as possible

from In the blend · host Laura Jenkins

When your relationship with your ex broke down, your natural inclination may have been to move as far away from them as possible. But when children are involved and you are co-parenting, Sonia Cann-Milland, Melbourne-based counsellor and stepfamily expert, said the geographical distance between the co-parents can make a difference to the effectiveness of the co-parenting relationship.  She says, living nearby to your ex can make it easier in terms of shared access to the children and an ability for both parents to be truly engaged in the child’s community. It also has many benefits from a logistics perspective.  Whilst sometimes it simply might not be possible to live near to your ex, due to remarriage or a job transfer - if it is, Sonia’s tip might just be worth pondering.   Episode Link: intheblend.com.au/podcast/dr-sonia-cann-millan-on-dealing-with-your-ex-in-a-productive-way/See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
