Years ago, I found a stray dog in my neighborhood. Buddy became my constant companion. During our 18 years together, we logged many miles walking and hiking together. Never leashed, he was always by my side. Our bond was so strong that he never left me. He stayed because of love, not control. He was by my side by choice, not force. I committed myself to caring for and loving my companion and never reneged on my promise to him. Our relationship with God is much like that of Buddy's and mine.
