2 Peter 1:3. Grace is receiving God's favor that we don't deserve. Pastor looks at examples of two Biblical individuals who portrayed God's grace. Mary was called the highly favored one, yet it complicated her life to serve. Paul had some physical infirmity that he asked God to remove, yet God responded with "My grace is sufficient for you". For Paul to grow in grace meant he was to not be healed and God will take care of him everyday. Grace is to equip you to better serve His people and His kingdom. What did it take for God and man to not be at odds? It took a sacrifice. Blessed are the peace makers (Matthew 5). Sacrifice is needed for peace. Being accepted by God rather than pleasing God. God has given us favors (Holy Spirit/Bible) to live righteously in this world. Are we picking up the tools? Are we listening to the Holy Spirit or quenching it? Surrendering to Christ is continual bringing us closer to godliness. We get bored staying in the shallow kiddie pool instead of the deep ocean. You have to know Him to think like Him to be like Him. The moer you know God the more you change how you see who you are and what you are. I am a vessel for Christ's work.
