My Healing Letter to My Dad

from The South Asian Healing Podcast · host Sunnyccoaching

Writing a letter to my dad was one of the hardest and best things I’ve ever done.I talked about all my feelings and my experience of a child watching his parents divorce when he was 5. All this had been with me for over 20 years. It helped me move on and form a good relationship with him. In this episode, I reopen and reflect on the letter I wrote to him in 2018.My parents divorced when I was 5. As a young kid all I wanted was my dad to love and respect me, but I did not get that. This ruined my self-worth, self-esteem and caused me abandonment issues.Over the years, I got used to being raised by my mom. I occasionally saw my dad but was not too close to him.In my 20s I started to become closer with him. I also sensed he wanted to have a better relationship with me. However, it was still hard for me to let go of the past.As I started to do inner work, I realized I want to move on from what happened and form a good relationship with him. Today, I can proudful say that we have a good relationship, and it has a lot to do with writing this letter to him.Listen now!Follow me on Instagram for more related content and to book a coaching call!https://www.instagram.com/sunnyccoaching/
