Welcome to My House My Foundation with your host Dr. Maryam Mirad. Dr. Mirad will discuss the many issues that cause us to submit to a life that's less fulfilling and less healthy.

Maryam will investigate this national dilemma of poor health and lack of time for physical activity and offer simple yet concrete solutions to this growing problem. So now please welcome the host of My House My Foundation, Dr. Maryam Mirad. Welcome friends.

Welcome to Dr. Mary Mirads, My House My Foundation on the BBM Global Network and Tune in Video. This is your show where we look into the lives of everyday average Americans. Why is America such a health conscious and such a fitness-crazed nation?

And why is the average American not fulfilling the image of fitness? So we will look into the life of everyday Americans and each show we will investigate one person individually. Today our guest is Jane. She's 48 years old and Jane is a very precious person.

She took care of her mother who is now in a facility and her mom passed away recently but adding to her depression, she also lost her job at the same time. And when you're 48 and you've worked in one professional life, all your life and that was, she was very passionate towards her job and now that with economic downturn she's lost not only her job but her mother at the same time. So she's into a double depression which is sort of hard to describe and she feels very isolated because she was her mom's only child and her mother was always there for her whenever she had any difficulty. Whenever in life she had to talk to someone, it was her mother.

She and her mother were very close and now mom is not there and she's depressed about her mother not being there and then her job at the same time. So she's like very, very withdrawn and she's finding it very difficult to cope with life and it's just very hard to express in words. And Jane is a family person. She's into health and care and she's into the health and wellness industry but unfortunately having lost her job and her mom just together has put her down into her darkest days which is so hard to describe and being into the health and wellness industry, she's a health conscious person.

But right now she's finding it very, very hard to talk to even get up in the morning like life has a purpose. And she was telling me she can lie in bed all day and no one calls her and no one thinks about her and she's there by herself and she doesn't really feel that anybody cares or notices her anymore. And so I was listening to her and she sounded like there was not a single ray of hope in her life and I was telling her that's not true. We have to carry on and we have friends and we have family.

It's a terrible loss of a mom. It's terrible and the loss of your job, your finances is also horrible to go through and then simultaneously she feels just so depressed and she doesn't have the energy to get up in the morning because there's no purpose to get up in the morning. She's not going to get dressed and take a shower and fix her hair and put her makeup on and have a breakfast and pack her lunch and go to work because she's no longer as employed and she just does not have the energy to move and I was telling her the need to get out and get some fresh hair and go to the park, go have lunch with your friends, get out, talk to your best friend, go to a support group, she needs to get out but she just doesn't feel that she has it in her to collect all those pieces, all those puzzles of her life which are just scattered inside of her and in her emotions. So she just does not want to even move a limb.

She can go the whole day without eating and if she makes it to the kitchen she can spend the whole day on the couch eating whatever she finds snacks and the balance is just gone and she's into health and fitness and she was telling me that I used to listen to these stories of other women, they lose their job or their divorce or their husband or some life situation changes and they are not able to cope with life and they lose their balance and it's happening to her and she never thought that she would live through such an event but life is so unpredictable so I was telling her that she has to collect herself together and she has to say a prayer and she has to get out and call her friends, call her support group, join a support group, there's somebody out there, go to her mother's grave, say a prayer that makes you feel better, call her cousin, they grew up together but they sort of have not talked to one another for a couple of months now so I was like you know all your cousins, you used to talk to her, you need to talk to somebody and if nobody talked to your flower, you've got flowers there, you need to talk to yourself, just vocalize, get up and get some fresh here, she lives in a very nice town home and I said go out and sit in your garden, just take a chair and go sit outside, have your food outside, she doesn't even open the windows, she doesn't even look outside, if the sun is shining or is it raining or what's the weather outside, she just doesn't know what time it is and I asked her are you aware of what time it is, did you have breakfast and she has no concept of time, it's like she's by herself in this bubble environment and everything is just lost its connection and everything is just floated away from her because of the loss of her mother which has been such a strong emotional trauma and then the loss of her job on top of that and so we're trying to, we're here talking with Jane and in every situation you need to do some physical activity, the body doesn't take in activity, you can't lie in bed the whole day, that's not good for you, without food, you need to, body works like a machine so even though these are very difficult and testing types that she's going through and I was telling her you know Jane, you are not alone, the number of people taking care of their parents has risen and the parents they, we have a life span, you know, we and everybody passes and you have to accept that but she's finding it very hard to deal with it because all of a sudden she no longer can hold a big funeral or a big prayer for her mom because she lost her job also, so that's been a big blow for her that she can't really go by flowers and take it to her mother's grave and put it there so she feels like she has been like a bad daughter but us and no, you know life doesn't begin today, it started way back then and you've always been a good daughter, you always had a good relationship with your mother so don't put yourself down and collect yourself together no matter how depressed you are, you need to get up and get outside and just take yourself and be with nature, you know, smell the flowers, walk around your garden, she has a very nice small garden in her town home, you know walk around and don't just sit the body, doesn't take in activity, it's like there's an invitation to uninvited health condition if you let yourself go for such a long time and she's completely aware of that because she's into health and wellness and she's actually from the wellness industry but right now she's going through such a difficult time with the loss of her mother and the loss of her job and she knows that she needs to have a meal, she needs to drink some water but it's just very difficult to grasp the situation and get herself on her feet and take her outside and she knows all this but it's very difficult to deal with this situation. So right now we have to take a little break and this is your host Dr. Marya Murad on My House, My Foundation and you're listening to BBM Global Network and Tune in Radio and we'll be right back after this short break so you stay right there. Welcome friends. Welcome back to My House My Foundation on BBM Global Network and Tune in Radio. I'm your host Dr. Mary Merad.

Right now we're talking to Jane. Jane is a lovely family caregiver and into the health and wellness industry herself. She's 48. She's a sensible mature woman, but right now she has lost her mother and she has lost her job at the same time.

And she has been drawn into a depression. She finds very hard to get out and very hard to continue life. She finds it difficult to talk to her cousin or talk to her friends or even get out and go to a support group. She just wants to be by herself and she doesn't want to talk to anybody and I was telling her, you need to pull yourself together and you've been a very health conscious person.

And yes, she's a vegan and she's been taking care of herself. She's introducing. So she's into fruits and vegetables and I was telling her, you get back on your feet and you come to the kitchen and make yourself at least one good meal. Make yourself a breakfast.

You used to make these good breakfast smoothies, the green drinks. So I was encouraging her to get back and her grocery store is not far so it's just down the road and it's a small walk. And so I said, okay, let's just all come and we'll just walk in and let's go down to the grocery store and I'll help you at least get out there and get some physical activity. So you just go and buy your daily groceries, whatever you want.

You just go walk to the grocery store and you walk back because walking is her thing. She's not much into exercise but she told me she loves to walk and she likes the park. So I was like, get this little daily walking trip to the grocery store. It's near your house.

It's not too far. Just down the road. So whatever you want, just don't buy in bulk. Just go down, buy your food every day.

And this is how ancient people will just do it. In Asia, you go back to these older towns and older villages. So they have this vegetable market and everybody used to go and buy it every day. The vegetables and fruits fresh in the morning and they just buy whatever they need for that day.

So I was like, you're going to be to yourself. You don't want to talk to people but don't isolate yourself in your room. You need to go, you know, dress up, walk down to the grocery store and buy it. What you like, she likes fresh fruits and vegetables.

I was like, you know, buy them what you're going to eat that day. So at least you get up, you get dressed, you wash your face, you put some nice makeup, some a little pleasant looking in your hair. I get nicely dressed. You should have good shoes on, walk down to the grocery store, you walk around.

So at least there's some interaction with you and the grocery store people because they're very polite and always welcoming and very helpful. So at least, you know, there's some talking and she will get out and walk the grocery store. It's a nice big store. So she will get out and at least she will get some walking into her life because she just has no desire to get up and do anything.

And I was like, now you do your daily grocery shopping and don't buy it for the week. So you go and do your grocery shopping like she used to for the week and bring all your groceries home and you're done for the whole week. So I was like, you know, now you have to spread your time and your activities out a little bit. So you go to the grocery store every day, get up in the morning before it gets too hot, go around 9.10, early morning is good.

And it's a pleasant walk. It's a short walk down the street. Her townhouse is near her grocery store. So it was very convenient.

She's located right in the middle of the city, heart of the city. And she took her town home there because she's into health and wellness. So she's close to the medical center and now that she's lost her job. It's like, there's no reason to leave the house.

She doesn't have a job. There's absolutely no reason to go spend a single penny. And she's going to save every money that she has because now jobs are very hard. And every time she tells me that you look around and it's the more job cuts and now that she's lost her job, she focuses on all these job cuts.

So we're instilling a little bit of positive physical activity and you get the blood flow. You know, blood flow is good for you and it washes out the insights. So all these negative chemicals and chemicals are emotions that work or we work like a machine. So you have to get all of these negative chemicals out of you, all this junk.

And we need to move. So that's exercise. So if you don't do any exercise, walking is perfect. So she agrees to get out and go to the grocery store.

And she likes the vegetable and fruit section because she's a vegan and she's into health and fitness. She loves food and she has been juicing organically and she was showing me in her kitchen that she's got this special juicer which doesn't crush the enzymes and there's a special technique of juicing. So you get the juice out of the fruit and the vegetables and it doesn't destroy the enzymes. And she's into high tech and she knows everything about juice combinations.

She was telling me I have this morning, rise, I get up in the morning so this is good for the morning and then I have one in the afternoon and she has evening. So she has her juices all laid out and she has a good selection of health books and juicing books and vegetables and cookbooks and I was like, okay, look through those and see what you like. And then you go by the fruit and vegetable that's required. So at least you get up, you physically stand on your feet and you walk to the store, you have your bag.

So she's got her recyclable bag with her. She's very conscious about wasting and you go by your daily fruit and vegetable just by whatever you need, just by one of a kind and come home, you use it for that day and next day you go back to shopping to the grocery store again, you know, take a small walk in. And so this is how they do it in olden timesum. When people didn't have refrigerators that didn't have cars and still they do it in older towns and villages, they go down and they buy their groceries for the day fresh and that's the best way to do it.

You know, you don't bring so much home to freeze it because freezers are not really there and people now they have deep freezers and everything. You know, you have a spare fridge in the storeroom, but before they had like one family refrigerator in the kitchen, that was it for the whole family. So Jane here, she has agreed to go down to the store every day and she has started this and that's some activity and that's sort of interest her a little bit because this is where her passion lies into health and wellness and she loves, she's very knowledgeable about vegetables and fruits and what needs to be done. And when you're going through this difficult phase in life, it's hard to put it towards and you're listening to My House, My Foundation on the BBM Global Network and Tune in Radio and I'm your host, Dr.

Mary Moran and we'll be right back after this short break to continue our discussion. So stay back and we'll be right back. And today we're looking into the life of one person, one 48-year-old lady who has just lost her job and her mother at the same time. And we're trying to see how to improve her life by adding in some physical activity. Because when you're depressed, you definitely do not want to get up and go out and meet people and staying in bed all day by yourself or staying at home on your couch all day by yourself is not healthy at all. And Jane was very close to her mom and her mother was a nurse and Jane is also a nurse.

So they have wellness into their genes. And her mother was, she took care of her and they were very close because she's the only child. And they both are well acquainted with all these natural rules and health and benefits. And when you feel so sad and the loss of your mom and your job together, boy, that's very, very difficult, a double depression at the same time, two difficult situations to handle.

One is extreme emotional depression and the other is a very bad financial depression. And she just feels like her all her life has sort of ended. And she wishes her mom was here because she's a mom's girl and talking to her mom every time she had anything happy or sad or whatever the first person that she would call used to be her mother. And now that mom is so long or there, she misses her dearly.

And she has a picture of herself and her mother in her wallet and she has all these pictures around her house. And so her mother is actually very present in her life even now that she's not here. So I was telling her, you know, you walk around and you have all these pictures around your house and just wipe them and talk to your mother. And so this will give her at least a physical activity to stand on her feet, go around her house, wipe all the pictures, dust them off, see her mother's face and she looks, actually, she looks very much like her mother.

And you know, it's a connection. So she says she loves to take her mother's pictures and she's got so many photographs of her mother. And even though her mother has now passed away, she was telling me, I'm not going to take these pictures off the wall. I will leave them exactly where they are.

And that's lovely. Beautiful thoughts there. And to keep the members memory alive, you know, so her mother will be there with her in her thoughts and in her prayers. And I was like, so now that you have the time, what you do is every day walk around the house and take a small, a little soft cleaning cloth or if the pictures are clean, go around and take, you have this little softy spongy and little fuzzy ball go around and you know, sort of dust your pictures or touch your fingers around the mother's frame there.

And that's, you know, you're standing on your feet and at the same time you're holding the frame and you're moving your hands. So that's a total body, a slow movement for somebody who's just going to lie in bed and not get up the whole day. Or if she does, she just goes to her couch and she just slumps on the couch and she's there. And you know, she tells me she can stare into the empty wall or the roof the whole day.

And it's very hard to explain depression. I was telling you that it's easier to give advice to the other person. But when you experience it yourself, it's not easy at all. And so her mother has really profound presence in her life.

She was the one who raised her. She was the one who was always there for her school events, for her college events, for her campus. You know, she was always there for Girl Scouts, cookies, night, everything. Her mother was there and she has all these pictures when she went to school.

Her mom dropped her. And then when she started her college, her mom was there for graduation. Mom was there, you know, for wedding. Her mom was there.

The divorce, her mom was there. So her mother has always been there. And now that she's just lost her job. And this is the first time that she has been laid off.

And she had a good job. She was a nurse and all of a sudden she finds herself without a job. And she wants to talk to mom. And I was like, get up.

You know, her mother, I'm sure your mom doesn't want to see you with your hair tangled up. So get to wash your face, comb your hair, you know, change your clothes, look nice and walk around your house. You have all these pictures of mom around your house. And she's got lots of pictures.

And pick up the frame and sit down and talk to mom or walk around. You know, put it back. And if you can stand better. So stand up, talk to her.

Go to the next picture, talk to her. So you can communicate with mother because she's always thinking about her mother. And she's always wanting to talk to her. So what better way than to actually get up from your bed, get up from that couch that she's on and physically go and stand to where your mom's picture is placed on the table or signing on the wall, walk around and look at all the pictures.

They take her back because she's got so many when she was a baby. And then they're pictures when she was in school. And then with friends and your camping trips and girls night, her pajama parties, these got lots of pictures all around it, lots and lots of memories. And also that's good.

You know, keep your memories alive. You're going to talk to mom. At least you get up. You need to talk to somebody.

So even if you talk to your mother's picture, that's good. You need to get up and talk. You need to get your emotions out. So you're going to talk to your mother's pictures.

You get up on your feet. You walk around. And a little physical activity does wonders. It gets your blood flowing.

I believe in these negative, all these emotions or chemicals and once the blood flows, it clears them out. This is why people, they feel so much better after a walk or they feel so much better after a swim because you've been cleaned internally. It's like your internal vacuum cleaner has been turned on and it sucks all the junk and all the debris and all the dust from inside all your organs and you feel so much better. So I'm encouraging her to stand up and walk around her house and talk to her mother's frames.

You know, go to where her picture is on the wall. Go to where you placed it on your tables there. Go and talk to them and you dust it. So you have a little dusting cloth and you pictures.

So you're walking around your house. You actually get up and you're walking. So there's so physical activity and you're letting out these negative emotions. So that's also good for her.

And she has a connection with mom, wherever mom is in her picture, in her heart, in her thoughts, in her mind. So she sits and she talks to her mother and her mother is the person that she used to connect with all her life, used to call her mother and they used to talk every day and very close to mom. So this is a hopefully she will get whatever she has inside of her because she's all locked up and she doesn't want to talk to anybody and mom's out there. So this is a way that she will get some physical activity at the same time and she will get up and move around her house, do a little physical activity by picking up the pictures, walking, cleaning the pictures, talking to mother.

So there's emotional Lego also. And I tell you, parents are always there for us. So this is a way of connecting with mom. You're listening to My House, My Foundation on the BBN Global Network and Tune in Radio.

And I'm your host, Dr. Mary Maurette. And we have to take a short break, but we'll be right back. So stay tuned.

This happens every moment of every day. According to national statistics in the United States, every two minutes someone is sexually assaulted and every 10 minutes a report of child abuse is made. Those currently struggling with abuse or if you know someone who has been the victim of abuse, you are not alone. Whether physical, mental, emotional or sexual.

No, there is hope, there is help, there is healing. Author Tammy Hall has written a book from her own account of abuse called Journey of Courage that can guide you through your own personal journey of healing. Welcome friends. Welcome back to My House, My Foundation on the BBN Global Network and Tune in Radio.

And I'm your host, Dr. Mary Maurette. And today in our show, we're looking into the world of one woman, a 48-year-old single mom who has just lost her mother and she has just lost a job at the same time. And she's so depressed and how to alleviate her depression through introducing some physical activity, some natural motion into her life.

So we're looking a little bit deeper and she used to be very active. She's a nurse and she used to do juicing and she's a vegan and she's expert on health and wellness and you ask her and she beams to life and her mother was her best friend. So she's lost her mother at the same time. So she's now she's so worried.

You know, she gave her a very simple funeral, a very simple goodbye. And now she's worried that she won't have that much money for herself because being a woman, you know, she's big on charity and she has a big heart and she was helping her daughter and her daughter is a disabled person. So she has to spend a lot of money caring for her daughter and now she's worried that because she doesn't have a job now, she took care of her mother. But in case she falls sick herself, it's going to take care of her.

So her financial worries are a type of very huge. And at the age of 48 and now in this economic recession, she feels that her chances of getting a job is very limited. And now if she needs a job, she has to go back to school and polish up her skills or learn some new trade or get more computer, you know, be more hands on on the computers and then apply for a new job. And I was telling her, you know, when men apply for a job, five skills required, they apply for it.

When women apply for a job, five skills are required. They have all five of them, but they still feel the need to acquire some more skills. And so that brought a little smile to her face, but I said, hey, that's the statistics that I was doing, the science and all, I speak or facts. And so why don't you just apply for a job?

So at least you need to take this worry off your mind because you're taking care of your disabled daughter also. So and she's into organic foods and they cost a little bit more. You know, she's not willing to bargain on her health by going down on her grocery budget. She wants to maintain good health because a good food intake is eventually pays off later on when you have a healthy body.

And in your 65 plus years, in your golden years and your senior years, your body is more nourished, it's more stronger, it's more durable, your immunity is good. So she wants to maintain her lifestyle of eating organic and she wants to keep up her juicing. And I was like, yeah, good, Jane, you know, keep it up and just don't go into that depression. Just get up, walk around.

Be sure to take your daily walks to the grocery store. Get your fresh groceries every day. She likes that idea. So that's the daily positive for her get up and get out and walk to the grocery store and walk around the grocery store because the grocery stores are huge.

So you have to go from each department and pick what you want for that day and buy the small containers, you know, buy everything small. So it fulfills your need for that day. But she's like a very budget conscious. And now she's looking for bargains and coupons.

So she wants to not spend at all. And so I was suggesting to her that if you have a time, why don't you plant a small garden? Because these coriander, mint, thyme, basil, all these green leaves, they can be grown in a small pot, which is placed in your kitchen windows. So that's easy to do.

And you can plant a few vegetables outside. Instead of flowers, make a few rows of vegetables, tomatoes. They really grow once you plant them. And now you even plant tomatoes on a vine so you can hang them upside down.

So you're looking to a little bit of gardening because gardening, it's a physical activity. So you have to get down on your knees and work your hands and plant them, water them, pick the fruit. So there's some physical activity there. And this is what she needs.

She needs something to do because she has not been able to find a job and she hasn't been able to pull herself together, honestly, to get out and put her application and go stand in the line and go get that interview. So I'm encouraging her to not lie in bed all day. Don't sit on the couch. You need to get up.

You need to get down your feet and walking is her thing. It's not the gym. She's not the gym person. She thinks gym memberships are a waste of time, but she wants to invest in good fruits and vegetables.

She's organic person. So that's where her money goes, not in the gym, but in organic foods. And so I'm encouraging her wherever her strengths lie, whatever she has been used to because at this time it's hard to introduce a new tree. She will continue with the lifestyle that she's used to.

So she's used to walking. So walk to the grocery store. You walk around the grocery store. You pick what you want and you walk to the checkout counter.

So that's walking. And then you walk back home. So that's walking. And then you're in the kitchen.

And then you physically do the chopping and the juicing and the cooking. So there's physical handwork there. And this physical activity of cooking, it keeps her mind occupied. So she worries a little bit less.

She wants to stretch her dollar. And I said, that's good. So you just buy the essentials and you apply for a job. So you get yourself together and you apply for that job.

So she's working on sending out her resume and putting out more applications. And meanwhile, I was telling her, don't let yourself go. Keep your body together. She has maintained her wealth and she's maintained her health.

She looks fabulous. So don't let yourself go. You've got to fit into your wardrobe that's already hanging in your closet. So we have to take a short break here.

Welcome back. Welcome to my house, my foundation on the BBM Global Network and TuneIn Radio. I'm your host Dr. Mary Merad.

In this show we're looking into the lives of average Americans, everyday people. Why is it that they don't get out and exercise just like we see in the media and the news and on all these ads? Today we're looking into the life of Jane. She's 48 and her situation is that she has just lost her job and she has just lost her mother at the same time and she just does not want to get out of bed and she just does not want to go to the gym and gym is not her thing and she doesn't want to talk to anybody.

So we convinced her that she would go to the grocery store which is just down the road from her house and she's going to walk there every day and just buy what she needs for that day. So small packets, whatever the smallest possible amount of fruit and vegetable that she needs even one banana or one apple or one cucumber and she's into vegan organic and juicing. This is what she needs and unfortunately vegetables is what you can buy one at a time. This is what she has agreed to do and this is what she's doing.

She's now walking every day to her grocery store and she gets up so there's some physical activity. You need to have a purpose in life so you get up and you move and you have to be ambulatory. The more you sit, the more your body glues down, the more your joints get stuck and the more dependent you are on another person to take care of you and dependency is just not what is needed. You need to be up and about and that takes a foot care and this is the purpose of the show here at My House My Foundation.

So the minimum that you have to take care of the house is a solid foundation without which the house doesn't stand and the minimum care that you have to take for yourself so you can be ambulatory and independent is foot care. You have to take care of your foundation and so we're here talking to Jane today and she's health conscious and she's not overweight. She's incredibly fit and she was a nurse. She just lost her job and she has put some pounds on and she was telling me I'll put a couple of pounds on.

It doesn't, you know, starting to show and I was like okay well you need to put the brakes on and get back up on your feet and incorporate some physical activity and the gym is not her thing but walking is, you know, she was a nurse so she was honored with the whole day and she likes to walk and she was telling me she misses walking. She misses her work so we're encouraging her to apply for more jobs and she's very concerned about taking care of her daughter because she has a disabled daughter so she also finances her, you know, she finances her needs and she has to take care of herself and Jane is very excellent. She's got excellent thinking. She's not willing to compromise on her food and just go buy junk food and bargain food.

She wants to continue with her vegetarian, her vegan style and she wants to continue with that and I was like alright good so you got that and let's move forward from that so she has now applying for jobs and hopefully she has a, last time we met she was telling me she has two job interviews and I was like good more power to you and she's also looking into private nursing for family caregivers because now a lot of family caregivers, a lot of people they like to age at home and the need for more family caregivers and more qualified staff to come to the house and take care of your parents and your grandparents so she's also looking into that because she doesn't really want to go back to full time job and she says after her mother she's lost a part of herself and energy so she now feels that a part time job is probably better for her and so it gives her some time to think and some time to herself and she now is 48 so she feels the need to look into other activities of self care you know she wants to spend more time taking care of herself and also that's an excellent idea. She's only 48 and she looks fabulous and she says I'm just a few pounds overweight which I put on ever since these six months she lost her job six months ago and these six months have been very hard on her so it's lack of activity she's either she was either lying in bed or just sitting on her couch watching the television so we've now gotten her back up on her feet and every morning she goes out walks down the road to a grocery store and she physically so she gets up watches her face dresses up and she goes down to the store and she walks around the store and the store people agree to you so there's some physical communication you know there's a positive conversation between her and another person even that's a grocery store and she buys her daily produce to come back she does her cooking for the day so now she cooks them just about every day she's cooking daily and that gives her something to do she stands up she's physically chopping cutting cooking juicing for herself so she's making small batches and before her lifestyle she was a nurse so she was working long hours and she would make these batches of food you know put in the fridge and ready to go because she only was at home on the weekends and her time off but now she has a little bit more time to herself and so she has some slowly adapting life without mom and I was like you know mom is always there everywhere you turn there's a picture of mom and there's a picture of her and her mother and she has lots of memory around the house so every time she looks at her mother's picture her face beams up with a smile and mom's mom's are special they're just special people and there's always a place for them about to where they are you know they always they're in our hearts they're in our soul they're in our mind so I was telling her your mother is always with you you don't have to worry she's right there you just talk to her and you walk around your house look at the pictures talk to mom and now she's putting in applications and she asked her mother which where should we fly for a job and that's good you know there's positive interaction at least she's talking to mom she's getting her emotions out there so you're listening to my house my foundation on the BBM Global Network and tuning radio and I'm your host Dr. Mary Marad and we'll be right back after this short break so stay tuned. Get in touch today. Welcome friends. Welcome back to My House My Foundation on the BBN Global Network and Tune in Radio. I'm your host Dr.

Mary Merad. And in this show today we have helped Jane. She's 48 years of age and she has just lost her job. She has just lost her mother and it's been a double blow to her.

And she has been telling me that she is so, so, so depressed and unable to get out of bed. And if she does pull herself out of bed, she goes and sits on the couch and it doesn't matter what show was on or if the television is on or not. And so it's not good to be lying in bed all day or another couch all day. So we have a positively constructed a plan for her since she has the time now and her background is in nursing and she's on her foot.

So she was walking the whole day and she likes walking. So I was telling her now she's going every day. I have a built up a plan for her. So every day she goes to the grocery store in the morning so she has to physically get out of bed, wash her face, put some nice clothes on, change your clothes, you know, and get out of the house she walks down to the store, then she walks around the store and she picks up her daily produce and she's a vegan.

So she's into fruits and vegetables. And that's one thing good about fruits and vegetables that you can go and buy them every day. So she buys what she needs every day and then she walks back and then she's in the kitchen. So she's cooking or she's juicing or she's making a salad.

So it's mostly juicing and a salad. And so she has some activity even though it's in the kitchen and she's taking care of herself. So there's some physical activity and then she has all the rest of the day. So I've also devised a plan so she can talk to her mother because mom is who she used to talk to every time she wanted to tell a good news, every time she wanted an advice on something, every time she wanted to just talk to somebody it was her mother.

So her mom was the first person she used to call and so mom is still there. She had so many pictures of mom around the house. So she was positively going to talk to mom and she's connecting with mother. So these are the same pictures she used she has grown up watching it.

And these are the pictures that she used to talk to. So I encourage her to get up and go stand next to the pictures. So there's movement of going around her house. She's got a nice townhouse and she's got pictures on the walls.

She's got pictures on the side tables. So you know go to the side table and talk to that picture of mom there or go to the other wall, the other room and walk around and whichever picture you want to talk to because there's so many pictures of her life from as a young girl, as a young woman, you know as an adult on vacation with her friends. So she's with mom and she was thanking me for helping her out because now she feels like she can get out and put up an application which she has and she was telling me that she's got two interviews now and so that's wonderful to be able to help somebody get up and on their feet and that's what you want to do. You don't want to be dependent.

You don't want to sit down for a long time. You don't want inactivity because the more you sit the more you'll keep sitting. So no matter any stage of life, whenever you're less active, this is what you need. You need some type of physical activity and this is the purpose of our show over here My House, My Foundation and so today we have successfully helped in Jane over here and she is thankful and she will hopefully continue her life in a positive manner.
