Maryam will investigate this national dilemma of poor health and lack of time for physical activity and offer simple yet concrete solutions to this growing problem. So now please welcome the host of My House My Foundation, Dr. Maryam Mirad. Welcome friends.

Welcome to My House My Foundation. And I'm your host Dr. Mary Mirad, who passionately looks into the life of individual Americans to see how we can incorporate physical fitness into our lives, even though we think healthy. We talk healthy, but the truth being that our nation is the most overweight nation and all we need to add in is a little natural exercise into our daily lives.

That's simple, that's what we can incorporate, easy, and that's the best thing. And so that will be our show today on the BBM Global Network and Tune in Radio. Our guest today is Robert. He's a case study and he's a young man.

He's 20 years old and he's into community college right now. He's studying to be an engineer, a bright intelligent young man and his dilemma is he's studying and he's trying to save money at the same time. So he's living currently with his aunt and so he comes to, when he gets back home all of his time, his aunt supervises him that he should be studying and his mom is in constant contact with his aunt that he should be studying a Robert should be studying at grade, so at most his family's putting in a lot of effort trying to get him into good college and they just want him to have good grades and succeed in life. So even though he's working, he's got a part-time job as a piece of delivery boy.

So he also chips in, he helps in with his personal expenses and his tuition. But the main focus is on his exercise and his parents think that he seems to be sleeping with his books. Exercise, it's no time for exercise, everything sleepy, drink books, he just books right books left and he's sort of, it's a hard conversation and his aunt and his mom, they don't seem to understand the need for a little time at the gym and his mom is absolute no gym. You have to pay the membership, then you have to buy expensive clothes, expensive shoes, then you don't need one outfit, you need a couple of outfits and then you're still thinking about girls and you're dating and that takes your attention off of your studies and so he's finding it hard to talk to his parents and his aunt about the need for the gym and then he says he's 20, he's young, he's dynamic, he's energetic, he's handsome and he wants to be physically fit but he's having a very hard time trying to explain to his parents and his aunt that he needs to go to the gym and he is working so he can pay for his gym membership himself and students get to discount the gym membership because he lives with his aunt so it's a bit far from his college where he's studying so he has to use the gym near their home and he has to pay for it.

But even though he can pay for the gym membership, his parents feel no need for him to go to the gym. So the gym is sort of out and he's kind of depressed and he works long hours, I mean he studies long hours and he's a good student, he puts in his all of his homework hours every day and he sits long hours works well into the night he's studying gets his homework every day, he's a punctual student goes daily to his classes and he studies but he wants to get to the gym and the gym is just not in the picture and it's really depressing or I guess case study here Robert today and he is fine, he doesn't get to the gym, the more depressed he gets because he sees people that are physically fitted and shaded and all he's doing is studying, I mean he gets good grades but gosh he's got to get that fitness level up and so we're going to be looking into options for him that he can get physically fit big time because he wants to be physically fit, you know he seen those apps on television what those commercials can do for you and so explain to him that reality is a little bit different when you start working and those people a little bit not the ideal picture to have in mind, your fitness is yourself and fitness is individualized and so you need to look at fitness with a reality vision in mind and so he needs to have a little option of fitness without the gym that he can do at home and his aunt is not into setting up a gym for him in the garage, you don't want me to put me a bench there and put some weights and you know I can make my own personal gym in the garage and she's like no nothing doing and even though he found a real good deal over the summer sales you know he can set it up himself and you know since he's got a part time job so he can pay for it but it's not the payment is just not going to let him set up a gym in the garage and he really wants serious fitness and his aunt is not into buying anything from television so he just needs to study and that's their focus and so he's having a really hard time talking to him and so we're going to look into options for him into one option that is very good and it takes at least amount of time that I suggested to him was rope skipping and it sort of didn't connect with him because he was like what rope skipping that sounds like a girl sport and he wants a serious conditioning you know serious physical conditioning he wants those bell bars those big weights on the sides and and a mirror in front so he can see how he's doing exercise properly and and there's no way he can do it at home and he must get to the gym and he's just got his mindset down the gym and there's a big picture in his heart at the gym and if you could only get some time to go and work out at the gym that would solve all of his problems but the time is there so he's he's he's into a little personal conflict with himself and his family and even though he can pay for the gym membership or he can buy the little bench press and and some weights and put it into the garage but those are not options at all so he doesn't not like the idea of rope skipping even though I will discuss further into this very easy and very effective exercise tool that can be used without any difficulty or without any cost and and the people will be surprised you know the audience this thing will be surprised to hear the benefits and boy it's old stuff old school but very effective and you so widely but it just doesn't appear on television so so the young people are not really connected to rope skipping and and so he Robert over here he does not absolutely like the idea of rope skipping and he was like you know absolutely not and I need to have a sex pack you know I need to have my subs I I need to have a strong physique and rope skipping is not going to do it for me and he seems to be putting a little bit weight on plus he's slouching you know his physique is not really strong because he doesn't do any exercise some his only idea of exercise is at the gym and if he's not going to the gym there really isn't anything that he wants to do so his mind and his heart is at the gym which is out of question in his family and his personal situation so we'll be looking more into this case study of ours on my house my foundation on the BBM Global Network and June in radio and I'm your host Dr. Maryam Marad and we'll be right back after this short break so stay tuned. The earliest human societies worshipped a female goddess.

Little is known about this time because we did not always have a written recorded history. It was around 3100 BC when the Sumerians invented the first written language and everything that preceded this time is prehistory. The prehistorical record includes all of women's unwritten history from 30,000 BC to the time that men began achieving political power around 3000 BC. Male feminist artist Kimberly Berg maintains a strong position in educating and inspiring both men and women through his devotional art to the goddess and all women.

Studying their history is paramount to understanding who women were and who they would become later living in a patriarchal society. Welcome back. Welcome back to my house, my foundation. I'm your host Dr. Mary Moran on the BBM Global Network and Tune in Radio.

Today in our show our case study guest is Robert his 20 year old young Hansel fellow. He's a student and he's a dilemma today. Why he cannot put in physical activity into his day is because his idea about physical activity takes place at the gym where you have strong equipment and that's what men do and he wants to get to the gym. He wants to use those gym equipment, those weights, those machines there and he wants to get physically fit and his dilemma is he's living with his ad in order to save money and his ad sort of regulates his entire schedule and there's absolutely no going to the gym and he does not like the idea of rope skipping.

But I was telling him that rope skipping is an ancient art and this has been used by all athletes, you know, all athletes across the board. In their physical fitness routine they have some form of rope skipping and some of them. It actually doesn't take much time at all and in rope skipping it's easier to start because the whole body is a whole body exercise. So it's a complete workout.

So for him starting out because he's not really into any physical fitness routine and he sort of just thinks more about going to the gym and doesn't really get up and do anything. So besides just the daily get up and go drive to the college and come back. He doesn't really get about any physical activity and he eats and he is sort of stressed out. He just put not a little bit away there and he needs a little bit of tone up and some rope skipping.

It doesn't take much time and people will be surprised to learn that if you skip your jump rope for eight minutes that's equal to running one mile. How wonderful is that? You don't really have to get up and about and you go out in the hot sun and you can jump indoors. So the air conditioning is on.

You know there's a fan, you can put a fan blowing straight at you. So you don't really sweat so you won't be losing all that water and salt from your body because our student Robert, 20 year old, he thinks more of it than he does it. So he needs to have an easy exercise routine to start with which is not going to drain him and not going to make him sweat so much. So you're not losing all that body water plus you're gaining total body momentum at the same time.

Good tone, good posture and my jump rope in a jump on both feet so the impact is less on the whole body. So both your legs, they absorb your lower limbs, they absorb the impact of jumping and there's no stress on the body. There's no form of injury on the body. So it's a perfect exercise for beginners and for students who don't have much time but they want to do something.

This is perfect and even for men, this is wonderful. We have athletes that have this regularly into their exercise fitness and you need to have a total body warm up. So I was explaining to him that when you start your exercise, you need to do a warm up and a warm up, it needs to be total body and that's the best warm up because it takes less time. It got the whole body engaged front back muscles upper body, lower body and what more?

If you jump on your toe tips, you know, people jump on their toes both feet together so that absorbs your body weight and you develop much more muscles you know on the toe tips and that's how athletes jump, they jump with both feet together really fast so they get the upper arms, the lower limbs, you know both limbs together and good posture so you got all your muscles engaged and I was explaining to him so he's listening and sort of like the facts are settling in that he likes the idea that he can jump in front of his home, he can do the jumping inside and it's not going to take any space at all and he can do it inside so he's not going to be sweating that much and he doesn't really like the idea of sweating too much and loosing so much body weight, so much body water and minerals along with it so because he feels he doesn't really have a personal trainer who's going to guide him through and tell him how much vitamins he needs or supplements he needs or if he needs to go buy some shakes and protein powders he's doing a lot of reading so I was telling him it's just a stick to normal food because his ad cooks well and family cooking is the best at his end and she's nice and cook and she's terrific, it cooks lots of variety so the home food is wonderful so he doesn't really have a problem in his situation about not getting enough supplements and vitamins from the real food and I was telling him what better you get fast food all made so all your food is cooked fresh, clean daily cooked food wonderful you're getting all the vitamins and minerals so you let your have to the cooking and you just see and say thank you and I love you and your food is done and you don't have to worry about not having a personal trainer is going to coach you and more like sell you things that you need to buy whereas all those ingredients can come from real food also which is readily available in his home and the start because he doesn't really do any exercise so I was explaining to him that this rope skipping it gets you on your feet and once you're on your feet the whole body aligns up you know good posture you got to stand tall and put a mirror in front so he's got a mirror there in his room and I said well you know just look at yourself skipping and maintain good posture hold your shoulders up and smile yeah so that put a smile on his face and then we'll be looking at more facts about rope jumping later on in this program about how valuable a tool is rope skipping and people really don't think of it as a form of exercise and if our students could just own a jump rope which doesn't cost much at all and the benefits it gives is phenomenal and they can skip anywhere it doesn't really make them sweat and they don't really need any special shoes for it some people they jump with their shoes some people even the rope skipping barefoot and you can do it on any surface it doesn't really matter your front yard or backyard indoors outdoors you know anytime you have five ten minutes you can skip rope and the thing is it's easy to do so you can break it up so I was telling him that you eat three meals in a breakfast lunch and dinner so if you just skip the rope five minutes between each meal that will give you fifteen minutes of rope skipping and you start with that and then you can add on a little bit more if you want to you can take it to ten minutes the days you don't have your test or you know your your study schedule is a little bit lighter or you feel you need more exercise so you can add on ten minutes before breakfast ten minutes before lunch and ten minutes before dinner so that would increase your appetite as well okay so we need to take a little break here you're listening to my house my foundation on the BBN Global Network and Tune in Radio and I'm your host Dr. Mary Merad and we'll be right back after the short breaks so stay tuned. 819-360-3266. Now is your time. Welcome back to My House, My Foundation on the BBM Global Network and Tune in Radio. I'm your very passionate host, Dr.

Mary-Marrade, trying to get how each individual can add more physical fitness into their daily routine. Each one of our activities are different. We don't fit into this cookie cutter routine and this is what's happening to most of us. We don't fit into these hour-long routines that are taught at the gym or we have it in these books that models and top fitness sports people do because they do that for a living.

But unfortunately, the average person, the layman, we don't have an hour. And that's where we like physical fitness because we don't have the hour and then we feel we can do it. And the truth being simple is the best and every day if you don't have an hour because our student here, he's studying engineering at the community college. And he does not have an hour.

Plus he lives with his aunt. So she just does not want him to go to the gym and waste time and his mom is like, you need to study all the time. So we're explaining the benefits of rope jumping as an alternative, total body alternative to him. And you know that rope jumping is more effective than crutches because our student here, or handsome 20-year-old, he wants a six-pack.

And the best way of getting a six-pack, faster, is through rope jumping. Unbelievable, but it's true. Complete total body engaged. The whole body is engaged.

So you're jumping on your feet, a rope skipping and absorbs the impact. And you know when you stand straight, you pull the stomach muscles and hold them tight. And you give them the place where they're supposed to stay. That's how they are and you hold them.

You jump rope and they will stay there. You tone up your total body. Hold your shoulders up. You'll stretch the spine up.

Hold good posture and jump rope. So you're using your upper limbs, your lower limbs, your front, your upper body, lower body. Head to toe. All the muscles are simultaneously engaged and fast in muscle activity.

Develops muscles faster than slow activity because it's like an emergency, so a situation in a rope jumping and the body has to move fast and the body has to be aligned and it has to stay up on your feet. It has to balance. So there's so many different things the body's trying to do simultaneously. So the brain is working.

You're really alert when you jump this rope because you don't want to fall down and it's a fast activity. So your whole body is not only engaged, but your brain, your mind, body, soul, everything is focusing on rope jumping. And you'll be surprised that when you jump rope fast, you find that your thoughts don't wander off because you need to stay focused. Your arms are your upper body.

So your arms are focusing on coordination and movement at the same time you're skipping. So you're hopping up and down on both your feet together. So both the toes are engaged, the foot is engaged and then you're standing still. I mean, you're standing upright.

So the legs are engaged and your spine is straight. The core muscles are engaged because they're stabilizing the coordination of upper and lower limbs together. So your body core is engaged and maintaining good posture will give you a six-pack faster than crunches. So it's very exciting how a simple exercise that you can do anywhere and it doesn't take much time at all.

So if you want to be easy about it, you can do five minutes before breakfast, five minutes before lunch, five minutes at the end of the day before dinner or you can put it 10 minutes in the morning, 10 minutes in the evening and you can do like a high intensity workout. And it's up to you how fast or slow you want to do, but standing on both your feet together, engaging your whole body, coordinating your arms with your feet. You got the hands moving, you got the feet jumping. So there's a coordination and when you coordinate your posture muscles, they also coordinate and you're standing positively straight.

So the back is straight. You're not slouching over. So when you stand straight, you engage your front muscles, your six-pack muscles, you engage your back muscles. So the back muscles are strengthening simultaneously as you have just strengthening.

So when exercise, that's working your entire body out simultaneously very fast in a few minutes and it gets you toned up and not only does the muscle tone increase, but it gets you hard read up, it gets a circulation going and you can feel it. So I guess he or he very excited that, okay, he's going to give it a shot and try it out and I get to jump rope and he's going to start jumping and he's going to get a mirror in front of him so he can see himself jumping straight, maintaining his posture and keeping his head up, shoulders up. So he's going to look at himself in the mirror and that's the best thing to do is just to be your own best teacher. So rope skipping is easy, everybody has done it, you know, we grew up doing it and you need to continue with easy to do exercises that can be done in the home, they can be done on vacation, they can be done in your locker room.

It only takes five minutes, a few minutes and you can do whatever minutes you can and it doesn't have to be extremely sweat workout so you need a shower after that. If you just do even mild rope skipping, you get some cardio, but it doesn't really make you sweat so you can even do five minutes and that's like, okay, a glass of cold water will help out much afterwards and you feel relieved and the intensity is not so much that you can take it and you have a short break between your classes or you're going to have your luncheon and you haven't done anything, you haven't gone to the gym or you haven't done any physical activity and you feel like you're stomach is sort of in your neck a little bit or you're slouching, you don't feel so good. So here's a little simple physical activity that you can do, rope skipping that engages your upper body, front back, body core, all your back muscles, all your front muscles and chest abs, everything all in one. I mean, you can't ask for anything more.

So we're explaining to him that in his situation, this would be the best because even though he's got his part-time job as a pizza delivery boy, he should save up that money because his mother is counting on every penny he makes and his dad, his parents are very calculated on how much his education is going to cost him and they want him to continue with it and not have any breaks in his education. So he lives with his savings there on his dorm cost, his own apartment cost and so he's focused here and his dad might sort of look into it and he sort of likes the idea. Once you have to explain it to these young people, they have a different notion in their mind and they need some research, they need some facts, they need some statistics on how the body is, how well the body is put together and if you just get up on your feet, the whole body will stand up, good posture, good alignment, good tone and nothing better than to just get up on your feet. But that's the aim of our show is to explain to you how good foundation, just like the house needs a good foundation, your body also needs a good foundation and rope skipping for the young people is an excellent form of exercise that gets them up on their feet, provides them with a very effective workout and you think you're on your foot so it's a lower leg activity, no it's a complete body.

So you can even get six pack with a stronger back, you can get your upper body so it's a complete workout and it's best for students. So I wish that more students would look into rope skipping as a form of exercise because they really sometimes they do not have the hour, the homework and just those class reports and the work is just too long and most of them also have a job. So they have a job there that when is the time for themselves to rest and sleep and get their work done and there's just no time to relax and so they can take a little stress off by saving that hour at the gym and reinvesting it into rope skipping which is easy, it's always available, they can do it whenever they have a few minutes, it doesn't require anything. I'll tell you don't even have to change your clothes or your shoes if you have shoes on, it's perfect if you don't have shoes on your barefoot, that's perfect, you can skip rope with the shoes on, you can skip rope barefoot.

Some people they actually prefer to skip barefoot because they can grip the ground and there's more feel for it, so they prefer skipping barefoot and some people they like to do it on the floor so it's nice and cool and their foot touches the floor and they sort of can feel their foot muscles, their toe muscles because they're a toe skipping, they're skipping on their toes and so it engages their toe muscles more and they can feel it more when they're barefoot. So if you haven't tried and try sometimes skipping the rope with your bare feet, it's a different feel altogether, rope skipping with your bare feet, yeah that's an experience and you love it and some people even skip rope in the grass, so your foot engages with nature there, that's a wonderful feel. So we're talking here to Robert about how he can do some physical fitness without an gym membership and you're listening to My House, My Foundation on the BBM Global Network and tuning radio. Maryam Maran and on today's show we're discussing the benefits of rope skipping and we're talking to our student, he's a case study today and he's 20 year old going to his community college and he's working at the same time, he's trying to save money, living at his ad place and he wants to get gym membership. He's serious about dating and he wants to have a girlfriend but he's concerned about his physique because you need to be physically fit, you need to have a six pack and that was he doesn't have so he's lacking here in physical fitness and so he's kind of depressed and when your physical fitness is lacking, depression is like you fall more to depression by looking at fit students so everybody is talking about fitness and they have a plan going or they're buying some equipment or they're buying gym membership or they're doing something either home equipment or you know they're jogging or walking and in his situation he needs to study all the time to please this ad who reports his daily schedule to his mom so his mother keeps a check on him, that Robert goes to the class everyday, he comes back straight home and there's no other activity for him except going to his community college, his campus or his classes, coming home and doing his work and his mother will always ask him did he get the homework assignment done, what his grades were, did he have a test today, how did he get to score A on it, he's a good student, he's a regular student, he goes to all of his classes on campus everyday and he attends all of them, gets the work done, you know he hands any assignments on time and he's doing well, the grades are well but on his mind is his physical fitness because his mom is looking at the academic side of studying being a student that he is looking on the physical fitness side because he wants to be physically fit in order to have a nice pretty girlfriend and he is very serious about a good relationship and so he wants to find a good girlfriend that he feels that no girl is really interested in him unless he develops a six-man ab and he's physically fit, he's got this macho look and I was explaining to him that reality works a little bit different for students because you're starting out and you don't really have those years of bodybuilding and years that the gym behind you so you look good naturally, so put in a little bit natural fitness and the aim here is not to look like Mr. Universe, the aim here is to be physically fit so you're healthy, you're told you have good posture, you have good body balance, you have good alignment, you walk tall, you look handsome, you know nature is something about being healthy, looks handsome, looks there's some attractiveness to somebody who's healthy and all races and everybody from all around the world, you see international students, everybody that's healthy, they have some attractiveness to them so I'm explaining this to our students, so this is what you need to do, you need to focus on an easy exercise routine and skipping rope for him is the best option and he wants a very intense workout so he was telling me that rope skipping it has his benefits but it's not that intense, well I was telling him that if you skip rope for an hour, you burn like 1300 calories and it is very serious sometimes when he gets a little bit more time like on the weekends or Friday evening, you can even skip rope for an hour and when you skip for a long length of time, you vary the intensity so you start out slow and then you build up to a mild intensity, skip a little bit faster and then you build up really fast, you need to add up the pace really fast and then you don't stop, you come back down to mild intensity so you'll be continuously skipping rope but you just alter the intensity and when you're in the mild stage, that's when your body rest, you can breathe a little bit and then again you build up to the medium and a few minutes on the medium pace and then you take it up faster, you know you do it as fast as you can and then when you feel a little bit tired after 5 minutes of doing intensity, then you bring it back down so you don't really stop, you just vary the intensity from mild and that's where you rest so when you feel that your heartbeat has a little bit of regularised and not so fast and then you build it up again so you do 5 minutes of mild intensity and then you speed it up, 5 minutes of medium intensity and then you do as fast as you can for the next 5 minutes so there's a 15 minute block there where you build up for a mild and medium to really fast and this is how you build up your muscles while you're up skipping, so okay we have to take a break now, you're listening to my house, my foundation on the VPN Global Network and Tune in Radio and I'm your host Dr. Maryam Murad and we'll be right back after the short breaks of stay tuned.

Welcome back to my house my foundation on the BPM Global Network and Tune in Radio and I'm your host, Dr. Maryam Marand. And we're looking into rope skipping. How such a mild activity has a reduced injury.

There's reduced risk of injury in rope skipping while you get maximum benefits of complete body workout all put together in one. And this is just a fantastic workout for students who don't have much time in their day but they want to get physically fit. So today we're talking to Robert here. He's a very handsome, intelligent young man who feels the need to get to the gym but the gym is out of question here.

So he needs to do some fitness. He needs to bring the gym back home. So I was telling him, well, the gym is with you. You learn to use your internal gym.

That's the best thing. And he liked the thought of using his internal gym and nothing better than rope skipping because it engages your complete internal gym. All the body joints, all the body muscles, everything upper body, lower body front, back, all the muscles engaged in one. And he was like, he still feels he needs a more intense workout.

So I was telling him the warm up is essential. So you do three minutes of warm up and he really wants to do a very intense workout. So he's like, I'm not going to go to the mild stage. I'll start from the mild and a little warm up and then I'll shoot past the medium and go up to the high intensity.

So a brief warm up and that he's going to go maximum intensity as fast as he can skip. And I was telling him the importance of breathing during exercise because when he's putting in his full intensity, he sort of holds his breath and he really focuses on jumping, swinging those that rope, he's holding in his hand really fast and he focuses on fast movement. You know, it's a very intensely concentrated activity there and the whole body engages. And I was telling him the need to breathe.

So you got to breathe and when you're jumping, we're very fast because he's a starter. So he's warming up and you need to breathe. So if you can't breathe through the nose, breathe through the mouth, you know, keep your mouth open and you breathe. But don't hold your breath.

You know, that's terrible. The body needs oxygen, you know, that lean is oxygen when you're exercising and you got to have oxygen. The brain uses oxygen. The body uses oxygen.

So don't hold your breath while you're exercising. And he sort of he likes the intense rope skipping. That sort of gets his heart beat really fast and that's what he's aiming for because he knows that get the heart beat up. That's good for you.

He's doing the high intensity rope skipping really fast. And so I explained to him that do a little warm up in the beginning. So do one, two minutes of light exercise and then you can go fast and then at the end, do one minute or two minute of a slow down. So you're going to do it mildly back and get your heart beat back to normal.

So guess your heart beat that's raised up while you're skipping rope back down and then you can then you can stop. Excuse me, I got the sore throat here. Okay. So we're talking here to Robert.

Now, now he likes this idea and he's going to do this. Now I was telling him that you can take your jump rope with you, you know, pack it in your bag and take it to campus with you. And you get five minutes jump rope in between classes instead of talking. He's not really talking to person.

He's quiet and he's sort of he was telling me gets to his classes early and then he sits there and he reviews his homework and which he's done the previous day. So I was like, you know, already you do a lot of you spend a lot of time with your books. So when you're in campus and you get a few minutes in between classes, I just jump rope before you eat something at lunchtime. So he loves to eat.

And he sort of uses his brain a lot and he gets hungry a lot. So you like three meals are for me. I like to have like four or five meals. And I was telling him that's perfect.

Your body type works and it works for you. But before you have your meals, put in five minutes of high intensity rope skipping. And the thing with high intensity is that rope skipping, it's a protective though. The exercise is in such a way that your body balances, you know, your lower legs cushion the injury.

So there's no injury as such and the benefits are phenomenal and stand up tall. So he's learned good posture now. So before he starts rope skipping, you pull the shoulders up and hold them. So you hold your bag in good posture strong posture, good balance.

And then you start rope skipping and you skip and stay focused. And don't hold your breath. Yeah, breathe while you are roped skipping and start up. Thirty seconds or one minute of slow, depending on how much time you have, then you build a fast high intensity and at the end down, thirteen seconds or one minute, you get your heart rate down.

You know, don't stop skipping while your heart rate is still passed. So whether you have five minutes or whether you have fifteen minutes, just pace yourself and put a short warm up there and a short cool down at the end and in between you can skip as fast as you can. You get your heartbeat up and he says it feels good when his heartbeat is up. He feels like he's really working out and good posture is very essential.

And you know, when you're jumping rope, it's actually impossible to slouch because at the same time the arms and the legs are coordinating. So he was telling me that it's not possible to slouch while you're skipping rope. And I said, yes, this is why rope skipping is into the circuit training of all athletes. You look at all athletes.

You know, they spent some time in their warm up and doing their exercise routine, jumping rope because it's a complete body exercise. High intensity gets everything engaged. And you know what? It's low impact on injury.

So from jumping rope, there's really not much impact going to hurt yourself. And this is what he likes because he's a student. He can't really take any days off and he can't afford any falls or injuries or sprains or bruises. And from jumping rope, you don't get a sprain.

You don't get a bruise. You don't. There's no risk of injury. You're standing on both feet all the time and whole body is upright.

So the whole body is engaged and he's very thrilled to find a workout finally, which he feels that he can do. It's easy. He is appearance-approved of it and approves of it and is high intensity. So he eats a lot of meals.

You know, he works. He says, I work the whole day and every time he's stressed, he likes to eat something. Perfect. I said, before you put something in your mouth, I do five minutes of rope skipping because he eats that whole subway sandwich there.

Or when he's at home, he'll have a full meal. So he loves to eat. All right. Not the problem.

You eat and you exercise. That's the best way. So you're listening to My House, My Foundation on the BBM Global Network and Tune in Radio. And I'm your host, Dr.

I'm your host, Dr. Maryam Maran. Today we're looking into the life of one student, one person, how he can incorporate physical activity into his life. And the student be the student, he doesn't get time to go to the gym, and he lives with his aunt.

So he's saving money at the same time, and he has a part-time job to live in pizza. So he can pay for his gym membership, but his mom is against him wasting any time from his studies, and he keeps closing on him. So this poor student, he's feeling rather depressed because he's gaining weight, and he's not exercising. And so he has learned this unique, this whole but new, but very valuable skill of rope skipping.

It's used by top athletes. And no matter what your physical fitness, rope skipping is for you, because whichever level you start on is one exercise that's total body. Another body exercise that engages all your muscles. Can you believe that?

All your body muscles are engaged. Right down from your foot, right to the top of your head, right left, right back. All the muscles are engaged. And since you skip a rope, you exercise so you have to focus mentally, so you're focused.

And this is a time when you can't injure yourself because you're focused, and your body is supported by both limbs. So you're standing both your feet. So the risk of injury is absolutely nailed to zero, very minimal. And nobody really injured themselves jumping rope.

You're not using any steel or any hard equipment that you would get injured. And since you skip rope really fast, so the mind is focused, you know, the whole body is moving, so the mind is focused, the eyes are wide open, and you're focusing on jump rope. So that's the best exercise for our student here is to skip a rope. And the thing is, he can break it up.

So he's broken it up into morning and evening. He does high intensity. He really jumps, really fast ropes, skipping really fast. And he gets his heart rate up, and he feels like he's getting a good warm up.

And the truth being that rope skipping, it's better than crunches to develop your abs, because it not only engages your body core muscles, it develops the front ab muscles, it develops the back back muscles in the behind. So you're developing all your muscles in the body center at the same time. You got your body core there. You got the ab muscles in the front.

You got the back body muscles in the back time. So you're engaging all your muscles simultaneously. And this is the best exercise for students that feel that they need some physical fitness in order to get some shape like our student here. He wants to get a girlfriend, but first he wants to get into shape so he can have a nice looking girlfriend who's impressed about his good physique and his good looks.

And this is easy to do. He puts his jump rope into his backpack and it's at home with him. It's at campus with him. And before a million, you can take it out.

You can skip five minutes. He does rope skipping. So he carries it with him and easy to do. It doesn't require much.

And he does it indoors. So it's not out in the sun. So he's not sweating. So there's an added advantage that you don't really have to do an hour of it out in the sun.

So you don't really have to have your sports clothes on, your sports shoes on, and take a bath afterwards. So it's a mild intensity that you can do between the days. Spread out jump roping. So this is the best activity for him and any other student that feels they need physical fitness that they cannot get to the gym.

So this has been the purpose of our show here today is to introduce students a non-impact exercise which doesn't really cause injury, you know, and it's a complete fitness. It's the best exercise that is for students. And so I hope you have enjoyed our show today on My House, My Foundation, on the BBM Global Network and Tune in Radio. And this is your host, Dr.

Mary Amurad. And stay tuned for next week. So we're giving you a farewell now and hope to see you next week. So farewell from all of us.
