Welcome to My House My Foundation with your host Dr. Mary Mirad. Dr. Mirad will discuss the many issues that cause us to submit to a life that's less fulfilling and less healthy.
Maryam will investigate this national dilemma of poor health and lack of time for physical activity and offer simple yet concrete solutions to this growing problem. So now please welcome the host of My House My Foundation, Dr. Maryam Mirad. Welcome friends.
Welcome to My House My Foundation on the BBM Global Network and Tune in Radio. And I'm your host Dr. Maryam Mirad. I'm out to make a difference to every person that I can possibly reach and my message can possibly touch their lives.
I have one message that you need to strengthen your foundation in order to keep your mobility and we're a very sedentary country. We have just become a sedentary nation. We talk about fitness, we see fitness all around us. But when we get to the average person, you, you know, you that has to do it yourself.
After all the media, all the radio television, all the flyers, the magazines, all the friendly advice at the bottom line is that you have to get up and do something physically. And so I have put it into the minimum possible, minimum wellness that you need to do every day, minimum, and that is taking care of your foundation. And that is the cause for our show here, My House My Foundation. When you talk science to people, they sort of don't really grasp science and not everybody's a scientist.
And they don't have a background in biology or science or they're not related to the medical profession or nursing or you know, anyway, so there's a disconnect immediately when you mention the word science or medical profession or health and wellness. But when you talk about the house, everybody loves their houses. You know, there's immediate connection. And we honestly take care of our houses more than we take care of our bodies.
So this is why I have framed my program and my message in a simple language in everyday terms. So you can understand the need to take care of your houses foundation because the truth being the structure of the house is all standing on that foundation. And you never see the foundation once the house is constructed that it maintains the walls of the roof. All the structure of the whole house stands on that foundation, which no one mentions and no one gives credit to.
But that is what holds the whole house up. And similarly, our foundation is the most neglected part of our body. You know, what is the house's foundation? People don't really think about that.
And when I ask them the question, well, you take care of your house and it's important that the house has a good foundation. What about your body's foundation? So that question puts everybody into a moment of pause and a little bit of thinking. And that's good because you need to take care of minimum health and wellness is taking care of your body's foundation because our foundation is mobile and the house's foundation is stationary.
So our foundation needs to be even stronger than the house's foundation. And so there's a lot of signs there that I've made it simple then. If nothing else, you need to think of your foundation and our mobile foundation is what maintains our mobility. It maintains our independence.
It maintains our activity. And we do not like to be dependent on anyone for any reason. But the truth being we work so hard through life. And as we go older, we sort of think about aging, not in the house, but in a senior residence and sitting on a wheelchair or a rocking chair.
And we sort of accept this sedentary lifestyle in the future. But it's absolutely not true, not absolutely no. And the body is strong and just like your house is strong. Grandma's house works perfectly well and strong structures is standing there.
And our today, our guest is Anne. She's a 63 year old woman. She has the main cause of when you look at her, what you see is you see a saddened lady. She's frail.
She has a small structure and she's sort of hunched over and a very sad and gloomy expression on her face. And I was like, you know, what happened to you? And she's not had a job for a while. So a lot of financial stress and she's saving and she's trying to apply for another job.
And she's not very successful at it. But she's still trying. I'm like, don't give a hope. She was a school teacher.
And so now she has been out of work for a while. And she's still trying to do some tuition and some odd jobs here and there. And she's like just hanging on trying to live in her house. And she doesn't seem to have much hope.
And I was like, no, you know, you don't lose hope. You always got to think positively. And you know, we have so many other people that talk about so many places where they talk about the mind, body and soul. So you have to have a positive mind.
But we since we're physical structures, you know, we're a physical entity, our body. And you can be mentally strong. But the truth being that you have to have a house to live in. And her body needs a strong foundation.
So you need to take care of your body's foundation. And over here, she's very frail and she spends most of the time sitting in a rocking chair. She's just rocking the whole day. And most of the activity is mental.
Everything is in her mind. So she doesn't really move. But there's a lot of activity going on in her brain, everything, all these negative thoughts, you know, mostly negative. I'm not good enough.
I can't do this. I can't get a job. I seem to be losing my house. I seem to be losing my life.
I'm losing control. My friends don't call me. My my daughter doesn't call me. You know, my son doesn't call me.
They don't want me to come and go live with them. And I have to sort of do everything on my own. And the cost is rising. And she's worried about her health and her future medical bills and the cost of her moving into, you know, if the need arises, she has to move from her house.
She has to leave her house. And she's worried about if she will fall sick and who's going to pay for her hospitalization and all the medical bills. So she spends a lot of time on her rocking chair, just rocking. And it's like the clock ticking and the rocking chair moving and a lot of stress.
So, so, so, you know, I mean, it's good to think it's good to think and sit on your rocking chair, but not the whole day. So we will be talking to her a little bit more and discussing her as a case study over here. What can an elderly person do? And this is, she's not alone.
There's so many women in her early 60s that live by themselves, you know, they've always lived by themselves. They've lived an independent life on their professional women. And now they're sort of retired or lost their job or, or, you know, there's some reason why their finances were not as good as they used to be. And the children have moved away and they're empty nesters for a while and it didn't matter before.
But it sort of matters now and they're sort of losing control of their emotions and they're always stressed. And when you're always stressed, you can't relax. You don't have a good night's sleep. You know, she she sleeps and she tells me I spend a lot of nights just rocking in my rocking chair.
She doesn't have the energy to get up and just go lie down. And it just doesn't arise. You know, she doesn't feel hungry. She doesn't feel thirsty.
And she's not aware of her body needs. Everything is in the mind. She's just sitting the whole day, you know, the whole day spent on her rocking chair and her life is whether eyes are opened or close. There's a her world is just in the past.
And I was like, you know, you have to bring yourself to the present moment. So today we're talking about and she's a 60-year-old woman by herself and will continue after the short break on My House, My Foundation, on the BB Global Network and Tune in Radio. And I'm your host, Dr. Maryam Moran.
So we'll be right back after this short break. You stay tuned. The earliest human societies worshipped a female goddess. Little is known about this time because we did not always have a written recorded history.
It was around 3100 BC when the Sumerians invented the first written language and everything that preceded this time is prehistory. The prehistorical record includes all of women's unwritten history from 30,000 BC to the time that men began achieving political power around 3000 BC. Male feminist artist Kimberly Berg maintains a strong position in educating and inspiring both men and women through his devotional art to the goddess and all women. Studying their history is paramount to understanding who women were and who they would become later living in a patriarchal society.

I'm the VPM Global Network and Tune in Radio and I'm your host Dr. Mary Merad. Today we're looking into the life of a 63-year-old woman. She's by herself.
What can she do? She spends most of the time sitting down. This is the case of a majority of women when they lose their jobs or they're not active in the professional life anymore. They haven't started their Social Security yet, so that extra layer of padding that cushions them in the senior years, it hasn't really started.
So they're just waiting. It's just a waiting period for your Social Security to start. It's to turn 65 and she doesn't really have a job. She doesn't have any reason to get there in the morning.
There's no reason to leave the house. There's no reason to take care of yourself. And her hair is just as the last time she shampooed it and she's got her house close on. And she doesn't really portray a very happy picture.
I was like, the minimum wellness, you need to take care of yourself. You live by yourself. So the minimum wellness is taking care of your feet. In this segment, I'm going to talk about how the foot is related to the brain.
Ancient cultures, if you look at this ancient treatments, method of treatments, they draw everything on the foot. Whether you're looking at the Chinese or you're looking at the Indians, they all sort of connect the mind, the head physically. Headaches, poor circulation, stress. Every type of stress is manifested as headache and sleeplessness.
So you can't sleep. You constantly have a strain on your head. So what do you do? A little foot massage just wonders, but this is like teaching yourself.
You don't have to go somebody to do a foot massage for you. Because this is what they do. It's just the foot, you know, the foot, whether you go through the chakra system or you go through the meridians, all the meridians, all the lines, all the energy, they flow straight through the body up and down. And we even have this imaginary line that goes straight through our body.
And that's our axis that we stand on. Since it's not really visible to the naked eye. And that's not really what we do for a living. And not many people are aware of that.
But the head is connected deeply to the foot. And on the foot, you know, the head is drawn. If you look at reflexology, you got the head, all the organs drawn, you got the eyes, the ears, the nose. Every part of the head, including the brain is drawn on the bottom of the foot.
And then they say if you stab your heel, which is always saying, you know, stab your heel and you can feel it in the head, which is so true. Because when you put the foot down, the first part that touches is the heel. And then the foot is the extension. So just the heel, you know, most people, if they have a headache, they don't like to walk, they walk softly, you know, they don't put the foot down.
And the heel is a lot of what anchors you. And you know, the heel is connected deeply to your head. So you wouldn't imagine that just a little foot. So when she's sitting, so I was explaining to her, if you don't want to get up, you can just press the heel down.
That sort of stimulates a lot in the foot. And it gets the muscles exercising. And it strengthens your feet, you know, strengthen the lower structure. So you got the heel, which is connected to the head straight up, you know, it's a straight line from the heel straight to the head.
And this is, you know, your energy flowing, your ingredients going straight up and down. So that's where all the ancient sciences were based on. They weren't based on scientific terms, you know, we based everything on research and science. But just to, if you look at the body, you see how the body stands, you know, it's a straight line, you got the head, the back, the legs coming down to the heel.
So the heel is very important. If there's nothing you can do, sitting in a wheelchair, in a rocking chair, if you're just sitting in your chair, you know, you're just sitting, you can focus on the heel. So you can press the heel down. And when you press the heel down, you can feel it, you know.
And if you press the toes down, that's where they put all the head and the sensory organs of the face there on the bottom of the toes. So those are the two parts that you can press down. You can press your heel down and then you put sort of arches and then it touches on the toes, you know, you press the toes down. And that is very relaxing and so simple to try.
And it doesn't require any extra material or any extra gadgets. You use your internal body. And that stimulates a lot of points and it focuses. So when you focus on the heel, you focus on the toes, you know, there's actual focus and you're using your muscles and the heel muscles.
You know, there's a lot to say about our postural muscles. They're very strong. And so you're not only engaging your mind, but you're also engaging your body physically. And a lot of people, I don't think about this, that there's a connection between the foot and the brain.
So it's simple to try and try this sometime. So when you try it, when I teach people this, they see it, they're able to do it. It's simple. And this is everyday wellness simplified.
And this is my aim is to teach you simple tactics that you can do yourself, which have a deep philosophy. There's deep science. There's a lot of research now, which is proving all these old technologies and everything that the ancient cultures use. So it was always beyond proven and it works.
So you don't really have to go to a professional. You don't really have to pay them. You can do it yourself. And the biggest advantage is that you can do it three times a day.
You can do it morning, evening. And when you go to massage, you reflect, solitude, or any street, any spa treatment, it's not every day. You don't get a particular every day and all they do is a little touch and that people like that, the massage, the touch. So you do it yourself.
You know, you can you realize the connection between the foot relaxes you of everything is on the feet. And that's your body's foundation. So so you need to see how the foundation is connected to your head. If you look at your house, you know, the foundation is what supports the roof.
It's connected through the walls. So as we stand on our foundation and our legs are back, they connect, they connect it to our head up there. So same with the house, the foundation, it stands, it supports the house and the walls connected, whether it's a single story or high rise. But eventually the roof is up there, the attic, you know, it's up there.
So so the roof is connected to the foundation. So when I talk about the house, it's a little bit easier for people to visualize. All right, we're talking about how the foot is connected to the head over here on my house, my foundation on the PBM Global Network and Tune in Radio. And I'm your host, Dr.
Maryam Merad. And we'll be right back after this short break. Intergenerational programming is uniting America due to the tireless efforts of Dr. Ramona Frischmann, retired from the Miami-Dade County Public School System.

Welcome back. Welcome back to my house, my foundation on the BPM Global Network and Tune in Review. I'm your host Dr. Maryam Marad and in today's show we're looking into the house.
We're looking at how the foundation is connected to the roof just like our feet are connected to our head. Let me tell you, the house is actually a physical structure. So we can see the house. But when it comes to our body, we don't think the body is a physical structure.
You have to take care of your house's structure. All the bricks have to be in place, everything has to be in place, the roof, the walls, the windows, everything has to be in place for the structure to stand in order for you to live into your house, to enjoy your house. You got to have the structure. You can't live in an imaginary house.
The structure is very important. You have to have a physical entity, a physical house in order to walk through the rooms, physical structure. In our body's physical structure, we tend to not really think about it. As we age, we don't really everything adds up the consequences of exercising or taking care of ourselves or not taking care of ourselves and all the diets and the good nutrition and the poor nutrition.
So as we age, everything adds up. In old age is actually the sum of how you have lived. So when you get to, like Anne is 63, she's by herself and she doesn't leave the house. She doesn't really have a job, no job.
And she's depressed. The children don't really talk to her or telephone or even. So there's not really much life. She doesn't smile.
The smile is gone off her face. And I was like, think about your body's structure. The minimum wellness is taking care of your foundation. What really matters is that you need to be able to stand up and go do your chores.
You don't live your life on a rocking chair the whole day. You need to stand up. So I was telling her the necessity, very essential basics to take care of your foundation because we are a structure, we're physical entity and we don't think about our foundation. You know why?
Because we don't look at it. When does your feet or your body's foundation cross your mind? We never think about their feet and a lot of people, they don't look at them and we never look at your feet. And we never think about your feet unless you step your toe or something happens or we're looking by shoes and we're focused as more on the shoes or we're going for massage.
The focus is more on the massage, less the feet. So the foot never really crosses our mind as a structure and the feet is the body's foundation. You know, it's our mobility apparatus. It's what we use to get right here to there, what carries our bodies around.
So I was explaining to Anne over here how important the structure of the foot is. And she's a school teacher so she understands education and when you talk to her, she sort of looks at you and then sort of her attention goes and she's lost in her mind and she's finding it hard to concentrate. So you first have to look at the structure of the body, just like our house has pipes running into it. Our body has blood vessels in it.
Our house, the pipes, they have to have the water flowing. The kitchen, the drain has to work. You wash your dishes, you do your cooking, you wash your hands and the kitchen sink needs to function. You turn your tab on so the water has to go down the drain and then that's as far as you see, but the drain needs to go through the drain and just like in your bathroom, you take a shower so the water has to go down the drain.
And as far as you can see, but there are pipes that carry the water through and it goes out of your house and the structure is very important. So our body structure is equally important and we need to take care of our structure. So the minimum wellness over here is taking care of our feet and our feet are so essential because just like the house's pipes, you look at the kitchen sink and that's quite a big size and then our feet over here. So the pipe, it's the same story whether you look at the body's pipes, they're different sizes, they're big and then they go smaller and and smaller and our body is the same way.
So our blood vessels, they tend to narrow as they go away from the heart down to the feet. So the foot actually has smaller blood vessels, so smaller pipes in the foot and you maintain the structure. So you need to maintain the structure of the foot and structure of the foot is not maintained by cement or glue, it's maintained by little movement, you know, you got to move it and that's how you maintain the structure of the body. It's not only physical but you know movement.
So mobility because it's not only the outside but it's the inside. So you take care of like the house, the bricks and the cement and then their pipes running through so so the water has to flow through those pipes there and same with their body. We have the structure of the foot, it's what you see, you see the skin and you see your toes and you see your toenails. If you look down, you know, they're there, they have actual structure and inside we have pipes, small pipes running inside the foot and that's your blood vessels and water has to flow in your house pipes and the blood has to flow within your blood vessels and in the foot the blood vessels are small and they graduate down from the heart to the foot and so they get smaller and smaller and in the house it's the other way around.
So you're sick, what you see the drain in your kitchen, that's small and then it leads into a little bigger pipe going out of your house and then your neighborhood area got a little bit larger pipes and a little bit larger pipes and then it goes out to the river eventually the ocean. So in your house what you see that drain is the smallest aspect of it and the same way in your foot, the structure looks small but the significance is phenomenal and the house pipes in the foot, you know the blood vessels equal to your house pipes in the foot are the smallest and this is what a lot of people don't seem to understand and the same way the house is related to your foot, you know, that is a body's foundation. So I hope you understand a little basics over here and we're talking about my house, my foundation on the BPM Global Network Intunate Radio and I'm your host Dr. Maryam Bharat and we'll be right back after this short break.

And I'm your host Dr. Mary Moran and today we're looking into the life of a 63-year lady. How she can incorporate some physical activity into her life and right now she has lost a job so she does not have a job and she sits on a rocking chair most of the day just thinking and her body has become so frail and thin and she's kind of depressed. So she doesn't really eat well or take care of herself and she doesn't have regular meals and I was telling her the minimum wellness you need to do is to take care of your body's foundation.
So need me and when you take care of yourself you need to stand up and go to the kitchen. Go take a shower go to the bedroom. You need to stand up and take care of all your personal activities and the body stands on the feet and that is your body's foundation. So you need to take care of your feet and I was telling you you need to take care of your feet by doing some physical movement some exercise because the foot our foot is bone and muscle and you need to exercise the muscle which pulls on the bone so strengthens the bones there and you have a stronger foundation and the best thing is that you don't need to go to the gym and if you don't want to walk you don't have to she's sitting in a rocking chair if she just presses her foot down and you press the heel down it exercises the muscles of your leg especially the back muscles and then if you press your toes down it strengthens your foot muscles the small muscles that we really don't use and the strength of the muscles it goes very fast um so you have to use your muscles and if you're not walking it's okay there's a little exercise that you can do you can strengthen the foot so when the need be you can stand up and you can walk so I'm explaining to her the need to strengthen her body's foundation by doing a little foot exercises a little passive easy exercises that don't require anything you don't need a personal trainer either easy to do it's simple everyday wellness and the thing is it doesn't make you sweat so you don't have to have a shower afterwards and it doesn't take a whole hour so you can spread it out throughout the day and she's lost in her thoughts but I was strengthening the fact that the body's foundation you need to take care of it because since she's not really up and about and and and has turned into a very frail woman you know you see her pictures that are on the wall and in her picture frames that's a smiling woman you know she's got muscle tone she's got body volume but now she has some just shriveled up and and she's sort of like worried and and just hunched over and and the poor posture even when she's sitting in her rocking chair the posture is weak and and when she stands up there's not much strength and and her legs have bowed out and and she's lost a considerable height because she's hunching over and then she'll lean over and and I was explaining to her the need for to take care of your feet you know put the foot down and that's what will hold you up so you need to take care of your feet just press the heel down and when you press the heel down it strengthens not only the foot muscles but the lower leg muscles so it's a lot of area that is used and you need to strengthen these muscles so because when you stand up these are the muscles that actually hold you up and these muscles they're attached to the bones so when you exercise a little circulation goes through both the muscles and the bones so the bones strengthen up and if you don't exercise you know you don't lose you don't use your muscles so so the bones tend to become weaker and and they're more frail and the calcium sort of goes out of it and so you know the whole picture of health is not there and life is movement so you got to move you got to move your muscles you know if you don't move it's okay you can do this sitting down how it's easy to do you strengthen foot so you strengthen the heel so the heel has a lot of muscles going through there's so so many muscles that they don't have a name individually they're named in groups so a lot of small muscles are in their body's foundation and the names really aren't important but just to know that there are lots and lots of structures in the foot in your foundation that holds you and these are your bones these are your muscles and you need to exercise so you need a little physical movement you know they need to be contracted and relaxed so blood flows through them and it's only when you exercise you get a little bit of blood flow because you're sitting motionless the whole day in your rocking chair and you know you're not even rocking the chair just sitting there and eyes closed or open and it's not a picture of good health so so the minimum that you can do is is taking over your feet so you press the heel down and then you can press the toes so after you done pressing the heel down you press the toes and if nothing else press the big toe down because you don't have much strength and the smaller toes those muscles have never been used and so most of the strength in the toes is in the big toe and if the minimum you can do is press the big toe down so it strengthens the muscles at the bottom of the foot you know the big toe is a very important important structure in your body's foundation so so you need to do a little little exercises strengthening these muscles of your foundation the muscles of your feet the muscles of your foot and your lower limb because they function together so when she will stand up you know she has to stand up the body will take your weight and you won't trip and you won't fall so so for a woman which are a little bit old age and they're aging you know so your activity has altered when you stop your job or or you retire there's not that much physical activity for you to do and you sort of adopt a sedentary lifestyle that's okay life alters and we go through different seasons of life and different phases in life but the main thing is to maintain self-care we need to have something that we do for ourselves even though we're a service provided society and there are lots of services that you can pay for but as we age we sort of tend to conserve our money and we're sort of looking at our social security and that's our cushion blanket for those over 65 and sort of is waiting for two years so she's 63 and she's like I have to wait two more years and then everything will be okay and my social security will come and I'll get extra paycheck and everything will be fine and I was like you know don't sit and wait I hope you're moving now and I hope you're moving then and if you don't want to go out of the house you don't have to you're just sitting in a rocking chair that's okay so whatever you choose to do is what she will do and my aim is to is to tell them what they can do where they are in their life in that moment and right now she's in a part of her life where she just sits the whole day in a rocking chair and it's not really rocking and nothing is really moving and she's not actively engaged in exercise and she has become frail and fragile she's a senior woman and so we'll continue our talk more after Network and Tunein Radio and I'm your host Dr. Mary Merand and today in today's show we're looking into into what physical activity are our case steady guest and 63 who sits in a rocking chair and she doesn't want to go for a walk she doesn't want to participate in any activities she just wants to spend time the whole day in a rocking chair just lost in the memories by herself and and so what can she do you know she needs to take care of herself because she has children but her two kids are now they're on their own their adults and and she still lives at home so she does the minimum housework but that the since she lives by herself you know there there nobody you know small kids running around so there's not that much of a cleanliness issue when the house is neat and clean and and she keeps everything in the proper place and things haven't moved you know so everything is in his place but but her so talking about her foundation and I was like you know what you can do where you are you need to keep your your body's foundation the strength and she just doesn't want to move a muscle in and so what can she do so I was suggesting to her so as we continue my advice that what she can do and and this is for all those that spend their day sitting down what you do is you straighten the leg and just do a little stretch because because the joints you know the joints of the limb the hip joint the knee joint the ankle joint the foot joint they sort of tend to stiffen up and our joints are they're like they're like the joints of a car you know automobile you got these mobile parts and then you have to use the oil engine oil all degrees they need to be lubricated so same with our joints up if we don't move them they sort of get stiff they need some movement and the movement is what provides them lubrication we got joint fluid inside so nature provides us with everything our inbuilt with all that we need and we need to move so right now what Anne needs to do is I'm teaching her how to stretch the leg just straighten the leg and you don't have to hold it up and just sort of straighten as much as you can and just stretch the leg you know pull the toes up and that stretches the back of the leg so in mild stretch you don't have to use any strength and the thing is that the beauty of this simplest the beauty of adopting simple principles is that they're uncomplicated so if you feel like you do a little bit less stress you can do it a little bit less of a stretch there if you're stressed in your thoughts and and the time where you feel a little bit really you know you're not having such a bad memory such a bad thought going through you can straighten a little bit more because she are a guest over here she's constantly lost in a memory and it's so that's it whole another set but right here we're talking about how she needs to maintain her body's foundation so she can take care of herself and one of her main worries is aging at home how long can she stay at home by herself and I was telling her the deciding factor when we age is is not how rich we are it's not how good our memory is it's the condition of our body's foundation it's the condition of your feet that determines whether you can stay at home or you need to go in assisted facility so if you can stay at home you need to move you need to walk so you need to take care of your body's foundation and it's mobile so our body's foundation needs needs a movement it needs its muscles to be stretched and that's how we get blood flow so when you move the limb you get you move the muscles so the muscles you move your foot you know you move your limb the muscles are used and and every time you use the muscles that's exercise so you don't really have to go to the gym for exercise and and we think exercise is like we have to really sweat and we have to wear in joggers and special shoes and all those fit bits but no simple movements are the best and you use your body's own internal gym you use whatever is inside and the thing is you're right and your left leg is different so you're right foot is different you're left with is different depending on whether you're right-handed or you're left-handed so those people that are right-handed they're right hand the muscles are a little bit larger you know the arm if you take the circumference is a little bit larger likewise if you're right like it you use your right foot and if you take the measurement of your calf muscles the circumference of your calf muscles will be a little bit larger as compared to the left leg and same you know same with the hand the left hand the left arm if you take a measurement of this circumference is a little bit less than your right and and you know so you can see it's a measurable difference you know it's not a small difference it's a measurable difference that you can notice so so are both right and left feet are different because we're right-handed or we're left-handed and likewise so if we're right-handed our right foot will be a little bit more stable because we tend to use it more the muscles are stronger you know the bones are a little bit stronger as compared to the left foot so so this is why they need to take care of both your feet and sometimes you can do you can use both feet together or sometimes you can you can do individual so you can stretch one leg at a time but remember to stretch both legs so you can do one and then you can do the other or if you want you can stretch them out together and and you straighten the leg as much as you can so so there's no like correct way or there's wrong way whatever movement you can do that's excellent the aim is to encourage you to do whatever possible and the thing is different times during the day you have different moods sometimes you're feeling a little bit on the upside sometimes a little bit on the downside so our movements they reflect our moods and you stretch so the thing is if you're going to sit for a number of hours or if you're sitting for a while or you know like our guest hand she sits on the rocking chair so you need to like um straighten one leg at a time slowly there's no rush for speed over here the aim is for movement so we'll continue our discussion after this break over here on my house my foundation on the BBM Global Network and Tune in Radio and I'm your host Dr. Mary Moran so stay tuned we'll be right Mary Moran and in today's show we're seeing how even though when you don't feel like getting up and about and you're by yourself and you sort of lost hope you know it's one of those down times in life the minimum wellness you have to take care of is your body's foundation because you're by yourself and you need to learn how to take care of yourself and the first thing is that you need to be able to stand up that we don't think about that we don't think about that dark heat and our foundation is actually the most neglected part of the body and this is my aim I travel and I do workshops and my aim is to focus you know bring your attention that you have a foundation and if you take care of your foundation you will live a mobile you know our foundation is mobile so it definitely needs a little bit attention and unfortunately we sort of think of the foot as reflexology or massager we need to buy a gadget and that's from the outside but I teach you how to take care of it from the inside you know the foot is bone and muscle you need to take care of those muscles you got to do a little movement some exercise in order to strengthen the skeleton system your skeleton of your foot that holds you upright and I tell you there's so much science to the foot so minimum wellness is taking care of your body's foundation so you maintain your independence you maintain your mobility because no one likes to be dependent on another person for extended period of time and the truth is the more you sit the more you will keep sitting so even though our guest today she's spending her day sitting but she's taking care learning small steps that she can do that doesn't even require her to stand up no walking no not even standing up you can take care of your body's foundation while sitting down in a rocking chair like she spends all of her day and she's out of a job now and she's unable to find a job so she's waiting for that social security to kick in at 65 and she's 63 so you can't really sit on your rocking chair for two years and wait for the social security and then she's going to join this and join that and she has a few things in mind that she's going to pay for those memberships but meanwhile I was telling her the need to strengthen your body's foundation and your body's foundation is mobile you need to do something every day so this is a daily good habit that you need to incorporate into your life and and and this is easy to do these are simple everyday wellness simplified and it teaches you how to do it but you got to do this minimum that will keep you on your foot non-dependent on another so you don't have to pay everybody because everything adds up cost wise you know and over your calculates everything by the dollar which cost which that which you can do where she can cut and everybody's budgeting very strongly so so this is a purpose over here I hope you enjoyed the show today on my house my foundation talking about how you can take care of your body's foundation when you're not really up and about and you're feeling type of down and and yes there's still hope you know um you're still there your precious soul everybody is precious and everybody is loving dear to me so I reach out to everybody and I spend a lot of time on even one-to-one because sometimes that's what they need a little one-to-one time some inspiration making it easy you know putting taking care of themselves in a simplified manner maybe the thought doesn't cross their mind and a lot of people they don't think about their feet because they don't look at it it's not significant and I don't really serve any purpose so the foot is the most neglected part of her body even though it is her body's foundation so I hope you have enjoyed the show today and Angie she's stretching her legs you know I see her straighten your legs so she realizes that the importance of staying independent and mobile on your foundation so the minimum wellness is your body's foundation you got to spend a few minutes on the basics you know this is the basic of the basic the body's foundation and it's a mobile foundation so I hope you have enjoyed our show today on my house my foundation on the bbm global network and tuning radio and I'm your host dr mary marad so till next week farewell this has been my house my foundation with your host dr maryam urad if your home exercise equipment is serving as a piece of home decor then tuning each week as dr maryad helps you get back on track join dr maryam urad on the next episode of my house my foundation you've been listening to the bbm global network the ideas views and opinions of this broadcast are those of the participants of the program and are not necessarily the ideas views and opinions of bbm global network company
