Welcome to My House My Foundation with your host, Dr. Maryam Mirad. Dr. Mirad will discuss the many issues that cause us to submit to a life that's less fulfilling and less healthy.
Maryam will investigate this national dilemma of poor health and lack of time for physical activity and offer simple yet concrete solutions to this growing problem. So now please welcome the host of My House My Foundation, Dr. Maryam Mirad. Welcome friends.
Welcome to My House My Foundation on the BBM Global Network in TuneIn Radio. And I'm your very passionate host devoted to my cause, Dr. Maryam Mirad. And today we have another wonderful episode of How We Can Touch the Life of an Everyday Person, of Everyday American.
The picture of health you don't see outside, but you see them on the billboards, on the magazine covers, on television. The media is picture perfect, but why is the average American not a picture of good health at all? And we just do not find the time to take care of ourselves. We have become a sedentary society and exercise has sort of gone out of our daily lives.
And a very small percentage of us actually are very devoted and they genuinely put in exercise that's on the priority list. Make time for the gym or walk in the park or swim or jog. And they're very dedicated, compelling, storm or rain or sunshine, whatever it is. They're out there with their exercise routine.
And you have to be very devoted and very committed to exercising because our daily lives, they definitely have all the patters of all four seasons and many more. And the weekdays, one routine and the weekend is another routine. So we're constantly combating different time schedules. And so it's not like every day is the same that we can go to the gym at the same time.
Our times are very, sometimes we have friends over, sometimes we have to go out. So there's a constant struggle to get to the gym. And somehow many of us, we lose the battle of getting to the gym. You know, that's half the battle.
So we have to like get there. So we don't even, that it's like a holy journey, make it to the gym every day. And that's the purpose of my show here is to teach people in everyday terms. So it's my house, my foundation.
It teaches you like your house, stands on a foundation, all the walls, the roof, everything inside the house is supported by this very strong foundation. And we have an expert who comes to make this foundation for us. And the whole house is standing on this foundation forever. And this foundation has to be very strong.
It has to be sturdy. It has to be stable. And this is what holds the foundation, all the walls, the roof, everything in its place. And multi-story, however high you want to build that house, you have a stronger foundation.
So I ask you, what about your foundation? And it sort of gets people thinking, well, what about our foundation? And our foundation, unfortunately, is the most neglected part of our body. And it's sort of out of sight, out of mind.
And you look at it, the whole body stands on your foundation. So the whole body actually rests on your feet. And so I like to use the word foundation. So that's sort of like significant.
It's something that would be a type of importance to that word. And as soon as you mention the word feet, it's like, oh, my feet, they ache so bad, they hurt. Nobody likes the shape of their feet. Gosh, they love their shoes.
And they'll tell you about all the foot massage and the pedicure they go for. When it gets to their own feet, the adjectives people use are definitely not pretty. And so, you know, a house, whether it's small, big, large, tall, whatever size the house is, it stands on a foundation. So that's sort of like our bodies.
We come in different shapes and sizes. And we have a proportionate foundation. And the minimum wellness is taking care of your foundation. Because we're a very active society and no one likes to be dependent on another person for their needs.
And we've sort of accepted that as we age. We grow old. We sort of sort of mentally put ourselves into a picture that someday will end up in an assisted facility and somebody will take care of us. And we'll be sitting in a wheelchair and we'll have a tendon push you.
And I'm like, all you got to do is put the minimum effort possible. Even if you don't make it to the gym, learn to use your internal gym. And our foot is what supports the body. So minimum wellness is actually taking care of your feet.
So I have a very extensive foot program. So and every time I bring on one guest. So today we're talking to Sally. Sally, she's a 38 year old mother.
And she just had her fourth child. So she's our case study today. And she's very health conscious. I tell you, she's one of those expert housewives in budgeting, cleanliness, meal preparation.
In her children's daily routine, their extracurricular activities, she's a mom of perfection. And she just had her fourth child. You know, that's a lot to say. And so her third child was also a C-section.
And so was his fourth child, a C-section. So right now she just had her baby two weeks back. And she's like, oh my gosh, you know, and she's recovering from her surgery. And the kid is just overwhelming.
The newborn baby, your previous three kids, the husband, the in-laws, her family, the friends, everybody's coming in at different times. And so she sort of very exhausted in the time for herself. And so we're going to be talking about Sally and how her life is. And she's, believe me, definitely not going to the gym.
And she hasn't been to the gym in quite a while. And exercise is sort of not really on her schedule because she doesn't have the time. You know, she's a housewife. So she's very conscious of how she spends her money.
And so she's very, Jim is like too expensive. And she would rather spend something on her children rather than on herself. So instead of spending money for her gym membership, she would rather go on a family vacation with her husband and take her kids out to the picnic to the zoo with short trips. So that Jim is not on her list.
But physical fitness, she walks around the neighborhood with her friends. So that was her physical fitness too. She got pregnant and couldn't walk that much. So she's a friendly person and she makes friends around with the moms that are stay at home in her neighborhood.
And they sort of get along. And even though they're at home, you know, that you might think that they don't have a job and they're stay at home moms, they are so busy. They're super busy people. And so we're going to see what type of physical activity we can help Sally with because the heart beats, we mean the heart beats every day of life, every minute of life.
And we don't look at physical activity as a necessity. We like to rest. We tend to put it off like, okay, I'll look into it. And we always feel the necessity to get into a workout routine or join a neighborhood club or get some DVDs that we, the ladies at home, they follow.
And so I explain to them that no two days are the same because some child is sick or, you know, the husband has a meeting or some family comes to visit or the friends or there's a party. So the timetable is always changing. So we have to take a quick short break here. You're listening to My House, My Foundation on the VPM Global Network in Tune and Radio and I'm your host, Dr.
Mary Marad. And we'll be right back after this short break. Essential Nutrients LLC is the brainchild of entrepreneur Barbara Burns. And today we're looking into the life of a 38-year-old mom of four now. She just gave birth to her fourth baby by C-section. What type of physical activity can this mother of four do who just had a C-section? She's got all kids at home now.
Lots of responsibility, everything changes. The newborn baby, there's another cute one. Very cute, but a lot of work. We're looking into her options.
She likes to walk. She has done so many things before. I bet your name is done. She's gone to the gym.
She's gone to the YMCA. She's got local gym membership near her. She's got a stack of DVDs, home exercise programs that she followed. She's got a neighborhood friend who used to walk with her.
Then she joined a couple of other things here and there in school and having some activities with the children or walking with a husband. But she named me. She was telling me that after a while, even though they don't last a week, the schedule changes so drastically with four children. Either one is coughing or sneezing or has a flu or a tummy ache.
It's daily something and they all require mom time. Her oldest is now 12. Then her son is eight and then she has a gap and she has another son who is some three years old and now this fourth child. That's about eight, four.
Right now she just had a C-section. She is feeling very, very down. She's like, oh my gosh, she's so overwhelming. I don't think she slept at night.
If you don't rest, I was telling you, if you don't rest. You don't even feel like talking to the other person, let alone do some movement or some natural form of exercise or even getting up and walking around your house and just walking through the house and seeing how the house is because she's a complete, excellent housewife. She keeps all the kids' toys perfectly and the kids' bed. Everything is picture perfect and that sort of takes a lot of energy when you're managing three active kids and now the fourth baby comes along.
She's got three active ones walking, running, jumping. They have their own rooms and their space department. The oldest daughter is 12 and then her son is eight and then another child and her son is three. The toys vary and she has to keep them separate in their own rooms and she's got a desk and everything is very neatly done and I was complimenting her.
She looks fabulous. She'll put some light makeup on and a big smile on her face. She invested in a little plus size closest because she says she's gaining a little bit weight as the years go by and with every baby, she doesn't really lose the baby fat because herself as she says her genetics is making her fat. So she blames a little bit on her genes and then the lifestyle.
Of course the kids said they love to eat and she's a terrific cook and she'll do the housework and the cooking and the cleaning and taking care of the babies and the children and her friends and there's all these little things to do, not to mention her phone and a little tapping on the email and the Facebook and the social chats that she goes on and they all take a little bit of her time and she has the television on or sometimes she has radio running or music playing on her hand phone and so she's constantly busy and she's always on the go but it's never really a form of exercise and she was telling me that before she was pregnant with his fourth child. She and one of her neighborhood friends who just lives down the block, they used to go for a walk in and it was a neighborhood walk in and just around the block and they sent it for the woman, these two ladies to walk every day, Sally and her friend was to go down to the Starbucks and enjoy a cup of coffee and come back and boy they used to get all the way going and you know they would get all the way back and it was like a big amusement to them that we're actually walking but it's so much fun that we're going to get a little gift for ourselves, a little token of something special for ourselves and they're both big on coffee and Starbucks and so they do it like okay so we're walking to Starbucks and then we're walking back and in between we sort of a booster energy up by a little cup of Starbucks there and that's a little treat and it's neighborhood Starbucks so they always start running to one of their friends and they always seem to run into somebody and have a little conversation there and have a little cup of coffee, they sit there, have a little talk and a friendly talk and then the Italian or neighbor they walk back so it's like a social entertainment for them when the kids are off to school so they used to walk during the day when the kids were at school and it's the mom time and they used to put in these daily walks and their aim was sort of like to lose weight but that sort of never really happened because you go and you have the Starbucks there and so the caloric intake is on the plus side but I was telling her that you focus on some movement every day so when it comes to using your internal gym either walk or you know climb the stairs because she has a double story house in it she's got stairs in her house and she'll send the children upstairs because she's not going up the stairs so whether you're walking around your house or in your house or outside or with a friend or like she is going to the Starbucks and you know have a little cup of their coffee and walk back so you keep the focus on the physical activity and you don't link your physical activity with weight loss because weight loss you know the whole health diet wellness equation is like a puzzle there's so many pieces into it so you shouldn't negate your exercise if you're not losing weight so you know if you have three kids there's lots of food around the house and she does keep a little bit of snacks you know these so-called junk foods and snack foods and kids like to eat and when they go to their friend's house this is what they eat so you know this is what they like to eat so she keeps a little bit of that around because this is what the children that come to their house to play their friends you know this is what they like to eat so if you like it or not you have to have a little friendly snacks around that places the children so you know she tries to avoid them because she gets her cup of Starbucks I'm she used to and now she's every day she thinks about reinstating her walk with her friend and her friend is actually waiting for her to get back into a walkable condition and you know start walking and taking up their normal daily walk that they used to do to the Starbucks and back so we have to take a little break over here and you're listening to my house my foundation on the BBM Global Network and Tune in Radio and I'm your host Dr. Mary Maurette and we'll be right back after the short break. Welcome back. Welcome back to MyHouseMyFoundation on the BPM Global Network and Tuning Radio. We are now at the 48-year-old mom of four who just had a fourth baby by sixth section. What can this mother do?
This is looking into the lives of individual people. Everybody is customized. Our thoughts, our family, our situation where we live east to west north south, it changes because of the weather of our friends. She just had a baby.
Everybody is unique. Not everybody fits into this one cookie cutter style that we need to work. Then we take an hour to the gym. We physically fit.
We drink eight glasses of water, three square meals. If it was that simple, everybody would be in good health. We are a lady in the family to have a four-year-old. We do have a four-year-old.
We are both complacent. We are less active. We are less mobile. It would be the rates of skyrocketing for adults and children now.
I was explaining to my friend here that she's a 38-year-old and she's the case study. She's an active lady. and she looks good. So you have to see the overall picture.
You need to be active and lively and look your age and be active and healthy. So the focus is not on fitting into the same genes as you were when you were 16. The focus here is on maintaining some daily activity into your life using your internal gym. And that is extremely important, especially for mothers because moms, they experience a lot of emotional.
This emotional state, motherhood completely, it's just you don't even look the same. Your mind changes, your desires, your wants, you stop thinking about what you need and all your thoughts are about what my children need. So you transform into a completely different person. And that's why most moms, they have a mommy figure because their entire time is devoted to their family, taking care of their children.
And a lot of ladies, they will take up cooking and organic eating and look more into sewing and lots of these household things for her children. And they have never done cooking or baking before, but they will do it for their children. And I'll tell you, follow those recipe books and terrific recipes. Well, what can I say?
All these school bake sales, they have a bake sales, you know, bake goods coming from moms and everybody swears that their mom is the best cook. So Sally over here, I was explaining to her that it's not about listening your food. You know, you got to eat, you're going through a transitional time, your body's going through a lot of changes because she just had a baby. And in pregnancy, your whole skeletal system changes, your body's alignment changes, your walk changes.
So while you're pregnant, even in the bone changes, so your calcium metabolism is altered, your whole metabolism is altered because you have another baby, you know, there's another life in you. And your circulatory system is sustaining two circulations. One is your circulation and then one is your baby's circulation. So it becomes even more important for pregnant moms, for expected mothers to be daily active.
You don't have to overdo yourself, but you just think of simple basic principles of mobility and activity, small movements, but you need to move, you know, so the aim is not to sit all the time, our rest is fine. You don't have to do an hour-long walk if you can't, especially in the last trimester with the baby. You know, babies increasing and your posture changes, moms, they develop this backward tilt. So the position of the spine and the pelvis and the legs, you know, they become more adaptive to the pregnancy, you know, your pregnant form.
And a lot of changes take place, but you got to keep mobility in because the heart beats, you know, so blood must circulate and you got to keep your circulation going. And you have to understand that it's the circulation that nourishes you as well as your baby. I know most moms, they put the babies first. So you got to have a little movement.
If a lot of moms, they're older mothers now, so they have a few health conditions coming in and they choose to have their babies a little bit later on like our guest here today, our case study guest, Sally. She's 38 and this is a fourth child. So a lot of changes takes place during pregnancy and after delivery. And then the sleep goes away.
So the baby is like with you 24 hours and now even when Sally was in the hospital, they have done away with the nursery. So the baby was in a little crib cut in her room. So she was taking care of the child, you know, there's early bonding and the child is with her in her room next to her bedside. And you know, she, a lot of times she was holding the child, you want to hold your child.
You've been carrying the baby for nine months, so you want to hold it. Then some mothers day they expend a lot of energy, you know, taking care of their children, so much love and they just delete themselves from the list. So I was telling her, you know, you need to take care of yourself in order to be there for your husband, for your children. And she's got now fourth child.
So this was for baby number four. And that was, she was like, you know, that's it baby number four. She's got two boys, two girls and her oldest daughter is 12. And her second child is eight, then the older before this baby number, for the third one is three years old and it's a boy.
And he's very active and now baby number four. So she has just come home from the hospital and she's very overwhelmed and she's complete at the loss of energy, at the loss of strength. And she's just like, ah, you have to be a mom to understand what the mother goes through, especially when you had a C-section and you have an older child. And in this case, she's got older children, but her daughter, her eldest daughter is very helpful.
And you know, when she's not in school, she's figured out how to change the baby's diaper and you know, she's holding the child. So she's mom still helper there. And she always wanted a baby's sister, even those 12 years apart. So all right, you're listening to my house, my foundation on the BBM Global Network and Tune in Radio.
And I'm your host, Dr. Maryam Arad. I will be right back after this short break. Intergenerational programming is uniting America due to the tireless efforts of Dr.

Welcome back to My House My Foundation on the VBM Global Network in Tune and Radio.
And I'm your host, Dr. Maryam Marad. And in today's show, we're looking into the life of one mother, one particular mother. What can she do?
Because her situation is unique. She just had her fourth baby by C-section and she's just come back from the hospital. So she is now drained out of energy, cannot sleep day or night. And she looks tired and she's been taking care of the baby.
And she's got a little bit older, three-year-old running around. And her greater challenge is trying to keep the three-year away from the newborn. Because the newborn baby is just so, so tiny. And she's just a cute little baby girl.
And her three-year-old is a very active boy. And he wants to grab her and run her like a car. He doesn't have the concept of a newborn baby. And so her biggest challenge is to keep her three-year-old away from the newborn.
Because he's like, he'll bring his Jeep and his car. And he doesn't understand. And that's his playful mode. He thinks the baby is a toy.
He's three himself, so he doesn't really have a concept of how delicate a newborn is. So that's one of her bigger challenges. But she's blessed with a beautiful 12-year-old daughter. And that's her eldest daughter.
And she takes care of the baby. And when mom has to, she falls asleep or in between, she'll have her baby sit, the newborn baby, and her baby sister, and her little brother. So the little brother doesn't hurt the cute little baby. And just to keep them separate.
And he wants the three-year-old. He wants to come. So it's a little supervised kiss, a pick on the cheek, a kiss on the hand. And he doesn't really, he's not allowed to lift the baby up, even though he wants to take the baby and play with the baby and come and run around with me outside.
And he doesn't understand that the baby doesn't run around us yet. So this is one of Sally's biggest challenges is to keep the three-year-old away from her newborn. And she's got her 12-year-old daughter who's supervising. So that's her task is to keep the little boy, three-year-old boy away from the newborn.
So she really fears for the safety of her child, and she doesn't want to leave the baby alone for a second. So I was telling her that she just had a C-section, and it's not really possible for her to do anything right now. But she needs to, if nothing else, she's lying in bed or sitting out in her so far or recliner that she has in her bedroom. Move the feet, just straighten the leg.
If nothing else, straighten the leg, and then bend the leg back. And if you lie in bed, I just move the foot. You move the foot up and down. Move the toes slowly.
You got to have slight movements, because she just had a C-section. And so she's still using her medication. She was on her medication or antibiotics, and so she's just off them. And she's not active, and she feels just so drained and exhausted that she doesn't have the energy to even stand up or do anything.
So I was telling her a daughter that it's also your responsibility, not only to see that the baby's brother doesn't hurt the baby's sister, the newborn's sister. But what you do is if your mom falls asleep, or whenever you come near her, I just change the position of her arm or her leg, and move her foot. And just take a little baby sponger or anything, one of these soft balls, or spongies. They've got lots of toys.
And just sort of run like her little son. He's got these little cars. So I was telling her, why don't you take one of your little cars and just run it up mom's leg, and then it run it back down. And run your little car on mom's foot.
He really enjoys it. And so by running that little car up and down mom's leg, and the foot and the arm and down her back, what that does, it's like a slight massage. It keeps blood flow. And it's over the clothes, over the blanket.
How repositioned she has her leg or arms. So the baby, her three-year-old, he's enjoying this activity, taking his small cars, those small jeeps, his trucks, his wheelers. And he just sort of runs them up and down mom's leg, on the sides of her foot. So every bump and hump, he takes his stomach, makes her a little construction, a little toys there.
And he runs them up her leg. And she's really happy. Sally's really happy with that. Because it's a way that she can communicate, play with a child because she's unable to physically lift them up or go play with them outside or anything.
So this is a way that she can engage with the three-year-old. And while she can hold her baby or have the baby lie down and the bed is sleeping in her crib. So she's happy in this way. It engages her three-year-old.
And at the same time, it relaxes her because it feels good. It's like skin brushing. So instead of a brush, her little son, her three-year-old is rolling the cars up and down her leg on her foot, just all around, or down her back, on her shoulders, down her arms. So he was even driving it over her hair, a bit down, up and down.
So I was explaining to her that as much as a mom can tolerate, that she needs to have him drive his little cars on her foot, at least because the foot is farthest from the heart. And she just had a C-section. So the blood vessels, they go down from the heart to the toes. And they become narrower and narrower.
They graduate in size. And by the time they get to the feet, the toes, they're the smallest. So you need to maintain a little circulation, keep blood flowing. And if she cannot get up and do so much active walking, this is fantastic.
And she loves the feel of something going up and down her skin. It's a nice touch. And her son is there. And he's enjoying driving his little cars up and down mom's foot around her toes, around the heel, around her ankle.
So she's enjoying it. And it gives her a little boy some activity to do, because otherwise he's constantly attracted to the newborn. And he wants to just kiss her or hold her or pull the leg or pull the arm. Or he's always wanting to have some interaction with the baby.
And so this is good for her. Then this little boy now, he drives his cars on her arm. So what Sally does is she'll straighten her arm. And her three-year-old will drive his small trucks on the arm, big trucks on the leg.
And just the movement of the tires of those toys, it's stimulating her blood flow there. So that's a little tip that they're both enjoying. All right. So you're listening to My House, My Foundation on the BDM Global Network and Tune in Radio.
And I'm your host, Dr. Mary M. Rudd. And we'll be right back after the short break.

And I'm your host, Dr. Mary Marad. And today's show, we're looking into Sally. What physical activity can this mom or for do we just had her for the baby by C-section?
So right now she picks up the baby and she's breastfeeding. She breastfed all of her babies and devoted mother. She is very neat, very clean, very organized. Everything is laid out in her drawers and her 12-year daughter is also so neat and organized.
So blessing to have her around. And she's the one that supervises the three-year-old, who's so he doesn't jump on top of the cute little newborn. And she's the one that maintains the distance there. And I was telling mom that now, you know, it's been two weeks and you've come back home and you're now settling back into your home routine.
You know, now your home routine is sort of settling in and the baby is now breastfeeding. So you're settling into a little bit of root back into the routine. You had your baby, you had your C-section, you had your little trip to the hospital, you know, so you spent two days there. So you're back now and you're okay and the doctor's given the green.
So you're fine. The baby's also doing well. And now the thing is to do mild activities because she just had a C-section. So you don't want to do anything drastic because the skin, so you have to have several layers catching us.
It's not only the skin, the muscle. So there's several layers that they have to be operated on to take the baby out then. So whereas the healing is like a little bit on the bra side. So you don't want to do anything strenuous, you know, nothing strenuous, everything light, slow movements, nothing jerky, you don't need any weight.
So it's natural body movements. And I was telling her if nothing else, you just straighten the leg and bend the leg, straighten the foot or bend the ankle just slightly, just sort of move your position. You don't really have to think of an exercise or a word. She's using her pillows, you know, to put up to the knee also, that's fine.
And she was asking me, I don't want to feel like, oh, lady using pillows because that's what her mother does for her knee. And I was telling her that you just need to keep changing your body position. And every time you change your body position, you use your muscles. So you're using your natural muscles, you know, and when you move, you sort of use your body muscles.
You move the legs. So you're using the muscles of the foot, the lower limb, the upper limb. And then if you're using the arms, you know, so there's a whole movement in the whole limb and if you're using your arms, it's the hands, the forearms, upper arms, shoulder. And when she lifts the baby, you have the back muscles.
So it's like an entire workout, you know, taking care of your newborn is a complete workout. But people don't look at it in that way. But you just have to, I was explaining to her, just understand the need to keep changing your position. And every time you change your body position, the muscles will move and your blood flow.
So your blood flow will be active and avoid staying in any body position, any position for more than half an hour. Try to move every 10, 15 minutes in. And she actually has a cuckoo clock and she bought it for her older child and he loves the cuckoo clock. So the cuckoo comes out and you know, she hears the cuckoo every half an hour in the hour.
So she says, that's a very good sound. That's a very good clue of half an hour. So I was telling her, as soon as you hear that cuckoo, we just sort of change your position a little bit. Just change a little bit.
You don't have to do anything drastic, but just change your body position to however you feel comfortable that you're lying on your side. So it's just straight in the leg or bent the leg or straight in the arm or bent the arm or just turn your head a little bit or just whatever your body position you are towards the baby. You can pick the baby, put it on the other side. However you are.
So you just change your position a little bit. So you use your own body muscles and it gets blood flow. So every time you exercise, every time you do a little movement, the muscles are used and then the muscles they squeeze and contain blood vessels. So the muscles, it's like slight exercise and they get the blood to flow.
So that gets blood to flow and it avoids clot formation. You don't want to be lying in any one position for a very long time. So your legs and your arm, they go numb and you feel a little bit of soreness in the elbow, the shoulder, the knee, the hand, the back. So every time you, I was telling her that if you feel a little bit sore or numb or tired, that means that you need to move a little bit more.
And even when she's asleep, I was telling her that she doesn't really sleep that much because of the newer baby and moms or newborn moms. That's the feature, love and sleepiness. So they stay awake for the baby and the baby comes first and the mom completely negates herself. The baby's needs, the baby's time.
Everything the baby needs is first and the mother is second. So I was explaining to her the need to take care of the mother because the mother has to be there for the child and we are physical entities. We live in physical body. So you have to slow movement.
So you just keep moving with your cuckoo clock because she's got a great cuckoo clock that sort of makes the sound every half and half and half a now, the little cuckoo comes out and there's a little dripping sound there. So she's got a good cue for half an hour movements. And I say, as soon as you hear that little cuckoo sound and sing a little song or do a little sound there, you just move a little bit. So right now, Sally, she just is recovering from a C-section and this is a fourth baby.
So there's a lot of work to be done. And she's getting back up on her feet and her daughter, who's 12 year old, has been a big help. And so she's focusing on simple movements. She's focusing on her primary focus is not to stay in any one position for a long time.
And she sort of loses a range of the time because she's not really sleeping. So I was telling her that if you feel your arm has gotten numb or sore, that means you've been in that position for a little bit too long. So before the numbness or the joint stiffness or the soreness comes out and just moves. So light movements.
And Sally was telling me that when she moves, she feels a little bit better as a small movement, keep it up, good work. So you're listening to My House, My Foundation on the BPM Global Network and Tune in Radio. And I'm your host, Dr. Mary Moran.

Maryamaran, who is the passion to look into the life of everyday people, customize what suits them, because not everybody can make it to the gym and believe me, it's a very small percentage. That of us that actually are dedicated every day, rain, shine, whatever the situation is, somebody's coming, vacation, whatever, they make it to the gym and the gym is their priority. I wish there were more of us like that, but unfortunately, how daily life has it, we tend to put our families first and even today our case study, Sally, she's 38 year old mother of four, she just had her for the child and all she thinks about is what's good for her children. She hasn't been to the gym in a long time.
And she has tried everything, she has tried YMC memberships, you know, her local club memberships, DVDs, every little thing, school activities, camp outs, a friend's family, picnics, you know, family. So, whatever she was recently walking with a friend, she's tried DVD exercises, she's got nutritional books, exercise books, you know, like every house in America, we've got at least three fitness machines, she's got her exercise machines, but they're just gathering dust honestly. No one really uses them. We have this energy and we have this Russia, but really need to go buy a new gym or indoor fitness equipment like she has, but no one really uses it.
So I was explaining to her the need to use the internal gym, which is with you always. And if you have a fitness equipment, you know, I mean, like even if you use it once in a while on the weekends or in the summer vacation and because she has four kids now, and even if she doesn't use it, I encourage her to get the kids to play with it. So, you know, if you're playing with an exercise equipment, you'll definitely use it. And whatever you use to play with as a child, it stays in your memory that we used to, I used to do this fitness equipment, we used to do this with my mom.
So it's building memories that are held in wellness related. And right now, she just had her fourth child. So she's not really up and about. And for her, it's just the mildest movements, you know, the smallest movements.
And the aim here is to avoid completely lying down motionless and having a poor circulation. So active circulation is very, very essential. And that's the aim of exercise, like our house pipes or body pipes. It got to keep the water flowing in your house pipes.
And similarly in our blood vessels, we got to keep the blood flowing. And as long as the heart beats the blood flows, there's no problem. And if we keep lying for a very long time, just like if we go off on vacation or don't use some sink, it sort of clogs up. And similarly our body, the parts we don't use, they sort of stiffen up.
You know, we have joints, they stiffen up and a muscle stiffen up. And it becomes numb. And I was explaining to her that you need to like this movement and movement is like, so it just moves. So a little bit movements, that's the best thing that you can do is small movements.
But keep them continuous. And Sally's got to cook a clock fortunately in her house, which cookers every happen. I already hear the bird come out and make a little birdy sound. So whenever you hear that sound, sort of just alter your position, move all four limbs, both your legs, move them, straighten them or bend them or move your foot a little bit.
This way or that way, your arms or your body, just sort of move. So the aim for her, because she just had a seasickion two weeks ago, is just not being the same position for a long time. And today, so we were discussing the life of one mom, who just had a baby. And you're listening to My House My Foundation on the VPN Global Network and Tune in Radio.
