Welcome to BBM Global Network and tune in radios, My House My Foundation. They've been bringing us fantastic radio shows for the last 25 years and here's another great hit, My House My Foundation, which brings you your concentration to your house and your foundation. And today we've got a very fascinating show for you. It's all on detox.

And I'm your very passionate host, Dr. Miriam Mirad. And the purpose of our show here is to instill physical fitness, some natural wellness into your lifestyle. And America is a very, very health conscious nation and we have gyms and physical fitness and all the media selling some health gadget or some health lotion or everywhere you turn.

But why is it that the average American does not look physically fit? And not only are the adults displaying obesity and not exactly picture perfect health, but the younger generation is also not displaying physical fitness. So we look into the life of one person at the time. Why is it that they do not get some physical exercise?

What is their wellness between? What is the reason that they cannot incorporate exercise? Even though they're well educated, they're well aware of the benefits of exercise. But why is it that they do not get to the gym?

So our guest today, she's a 38 year old mother of two. Her name is Luann. And she's our case study today. And her prime interest is detox.

And that's it. You mentioned the word detox and her eyes light up and you've got her full attention. And you mentioned exercise or the gym or some sort of physical fitness or jog in the park or let's go join a gym class or let's try this exercise routine or let's join that health club. You know, that doesn't really ring a bell.

She's really, really busy. But as soon as you mentioned the word detox, her eyes light up and you've got her full attention. So she does numerous detoxes and she feels this is a reason why she's slightly overweight because she needs to detox more. And despite the fact that she's regularly detoxing, she doesn't find the perfect detox solution.

You know, the perfect thing that's sold in health stores or she's tried everything. And she hasn't found that perfect one that really cleans her out. And she feels that all of her weight, all of her surplus weight is junk, which is stuck inside her body. And as soon as she does that, perfect detox, the next one that she's planning to, it will just clear and eliminate all that waste from her body.

And she will have a good physique and then all of her life will fall into place. And then she's going to invest in a treadmill and she's got her health path lined up and she's going to exercise every day. Now I'm trying to get her to feel the benefits of exercise rather than detox. But she's into detox.

And, you know, she's a very intelligent lady and she's very health-conscious. She reads all the health blogs and she applies to a lot of health magazines. And she knows a lot about health and actually she's into the health and wellness industry herself. So she's very well acquainted with what is good health and what is required.

And her thing that she wants to do is detox. And that's going to get her onto the path of wellness just to get rid of that junk that's lodged in her body. And she needs a stronger detox. She feels that the last one she did wasn't strong enough.

So she's going to do a strong detox and that's going to eliminate the waste. And she's going to get rid of those extra 20, 30 pounds that she has. And as soon as that's done and then she'll be physically fit, she's lost the weight, lost all those toxins and germs and all the junk that's stuck inside that's unhealthy for her. And then she will finally reach that Nirvana stage of good health.

And actually the funny thing is that the word detox, you know, people think that this is an old word. But the word detox was created in 1973. Is it? That's such a surprise that the word detox came into existence in 1973.

Detox is a very new word. So it rings to my mind the question that didn't the people that lived previously before 1973 have the need to detox. Because the word detox first came into existence 1973. Isn't that a surprise?

And along with 1973 detox, some of the other words that came into existence around this time is anticellularity. Bikini wax, you know, these are sort of like a female vocabulary words. And this is sort of when the females, they started up in the workforce and they started to have money in their pockets and they were spending on what they wanted. And this is what they want.

They want to get physically fit. And they want to lose all that whatever is trapped inside the body and whatever media tells them. So detox is such a new word. I mean, that was such a shocker to me that it's the word detox came into existence 1973.

And the dictionary definition of detox, it means to remove toxins and impurities from the body. And we actually have internal detox system that's inbuilt in us. So our body uses the natural internal organs to clear the toxins and impurities that it doesn't need. So that is a dictionary definition of detox is to remove toxins and impurities from the body that is no longer needed.

And that is cleared away through our organs of exclusion. And so we today are talking to Luann. And Luann is a very intelligent 38 year old into health and wellness mom of two. And her thing is that she's very busy.

And she knows exactly what she needs because she's into health and fitness. And she's into the health and wellness industry. And she knows all about health and fitness and detox is what she needs. You know, it's not the exercise she needs.

It's not the jog in the park or the swim with her kids. No, no, she needs detox. And she will tell you great lens, all the research that's associated with detox. And she's very convincing.

I mean, I tell you, I was, I didn't have my feet placed solely on the ground. She's very, very convincing on the needs of detox. And that's what excites her detox. Detox is such a new word.

You know, it's a new word. It's a new concept. It's something that we have created. So it was just at the turn of the century that the term detox came into existence.

And now anywhere you turn, you have so much detox. You know, we don't want to clean. We don't want to cleanse anything. We want to detox.

That sort of gets everything out. You know, cleaning doesn't do it. Cleansing doesn't do it. A little scrub here and there, done with the fiber and the diet, done to it.

We need to detox. You know, drinking water doesn't do it. But detox doesn't. So she's very, very excited.

And so she reads, she's up to date on the research. And so she's got this new detox program in London. And she's a weekend detoxer. So come the weekend, she's on her detox.

So two day detox. So she's got this new detox coming up. And it's very strong. And I was kind of concerned for it.

It's a little bit strong for you, but that's what she wants. So you're listening to My House, My Foundation, on the BBM Global Network. And I'm your host, Dr. Mary Murad.

And we'll be right back after this short break. So stay tuned. The earliest human societies worshipped a female goddess. Little is known about this time because we did not always have a written recorded history.

It was around 3,100 BC when the Sumerians invented the first written language. And everything that proceeded this time is prehistory. The prehistorical record includes all of women's unwritten history, from 30,000 BC to the time that men began achieving political power around 3,000 BC. Male feminist artist Kimberly Berg maintains a strong position in educating and inspiring both men and women through his devotional art to the goddess in all women.

Studying their history is paramount to understanding who women were and who they would become later living in a patriarchal society. Welcome friends. Welcome back to Global Network and TuneIn Radio. And you're listening to My House, My Foundation. And I'm your host, Dr.

Maryam Murad. And today we're talking about detox. We're talking how to clean the internal organs as a health necessity. And our guest case study today is Luan.

And she's into health and wellness. And she knows all about detox. And the question we're asking here is why are women so easily influenced by the web? Because detox is a very new word.

And this headline, which I will read to you, is from last month. It says that the majority of people that detox, they relax. And it's the use of very, very strong chemicals, which people don't realize. They think that the inside can take it.

But anything that your skin doesn't take it, the inside is just a continuation of your skin on the inside. So if you want to try, if you're sensitive to something, just rub it on your skin anywhere is fine on the hand, the face, the foot, anywhere. So if your skin is sensitive, it causes some redness, then it's a good idea to stay away from it. Because you don't really need that.

So if you're really into detoxing, then try to find something which is not that strong. And here's another one. There's another city in the US that has seven detox centers. And it takes only two people that aren't insured.

My gosh, that was a surprise. So now these detox centers only take people that are insured. And the lucky two that they take uninsured is only two people that are not insured. So just to get to detox, you have to be insured.

Now, that was a surprising twist also. So now detox is sort of coming into the medical realm. You know, they're accepting this more and more. That this prominent capital of the state here has seven detox centers.

And they take everybody insured, but only two people that they take will not be uninsured. So they extend their welcome into the uninsured community. Only two people that they take are not insured. So this is an option for those that don't have health insurance.

So what do you want to do? You want to improve your health? How do you go about it? So here's how people get off in the wrong foot in the wrong direction is when headlines like this come out that here's a center in the capital, not one, but seven centers.

And they take insured people with health insurance for detoxes. And they're doing kindness to those who are insured. They only take two people who are uninsured and they will do their detox also. So this is an option for those that don't have health insurance to improve their health and wellness by detoxing.

And so I was telling the land this, and she's set for her detox this weekend. And it's hard to persuade a woman because women are the one that this detox industry is set for. And that's what they need. Come summertime, like summer right now, before they go to the beach or any pool party they have got to do that detox program.

And in their mind, it is set solid. They do the detox and that extra weight that they have, extra 20, 30 pounds, that is toxins and impurities and whatever junk is lodged into the body, they need to get that out. And as soon as that is out, if they will lose that pound, those extra weight and they will be a picture perfect picture right there and they will impress everybody on their next pool party. And you know what most people now, they keep a diary of their detoxes.

And guess what most of these diaries are full of pages where people are not feeling so well. So they feel kind of sick, not so well on their detox and their cleanses. And there's a diet tip which I said, it says, if you're feeling hungry, you're probably just thirsty. Drink a bottle of champagne and see how you feel.

Boy, that inspiration for detox and women, there's another cartoon that says over here that if you're juicing and cleansing yourself, you know, you got to tell your friends because now detox is like the in thing. So if you're healthy and you're detoxing, you need to let it be known that you're detoxing and what choice you're doing, either you're doing real time juicing or you're having something out of a packet and mixing it and water and drinking it. You know, there's so many procedures out there and so many techniques out there. So you need to tell your friends and guess what, friends actually join you on your detoxes and these detoxes, they take place on the weekend.

So it's like you eat whatever you want on the weekday and it's perfectly fine because you know why on the weekend you'll be doing guess what, you'll be detoxing and getting rid of all that junk and all that food and all those chemicals because of course you don't have time to cook fresh food. I mean, you're working so you have to buy food from a cafeteria nearby and if you're on a real strict budget, you know, there's a fast food there which tastes good. Not good for any long run, but it's okay, you're detoxing this weekend. So a lot of people, they invest their time and energy into detoxes and you know, when people are doing this detox, it's a generally known fact that stay away from them because they're sort of unpleasant because all these toxins are coming out from their fat deposits and wherever the junk is lodged and so when this detox comes out, everybody's sort of unpleasant.

So if they lose their temper or if something happens which is on the unpleasant side, it's because their detoxing and their toxins are circulating into their systems. So this is a generally known fact that when somebody is detoxing, the bad mood is quite acceptable to them and you know what, now they're all types of detoxes. So now Luann is 38 and she was telling me that after this detox, she's going to do another one that's an anti-aging detox and boy uses strong chemicals and I was reading those ingredients on the box and I was like, my gosh, what happened to natural foods and natural eggs? Exercise, there's a place for those also and detox is such a new word.

I was just talking about it, it was formed in 1973, it was like it was just formed and when detox came into existence, so did anti-cellulite and these words that kind of go together in the ladies' realm of being fit and getting into those nice clothes. So and then you know, guess what, I read this now, your astrological charts. So the horoscope is also connected to your detox journey. I mean, my gosh, that really touches women because some people are very attached to reading their horoscopes.

I'm your host, Dr. Maryam Marad. Right now we're talking about detox. We're talking about our guest here, our guest case study, Lu-Ed, who's 38 year old mother or two.

This weekend she is set for a detox and she has bought her ingredients and she's got her pool of four or five friends that they detox together. I was telling her that Chino Luanne, the body detoxes itself and it does not require any extra chemicals or anything from the outside put into itself. The body is an able body person and you're able body. She is just 25 pounds overweight.

That's not much for America today. She is able to walk and she's able to jog. She doesn't go walking or jogging because she has to get rid of those extra 25 pounds like detoxing and then she will set herself into a healthy lifestyle. She's going to get that treadmill and put it in front of a television and then she's going to adopt a perfect lifestyle.

I was telling her, you know what happens, you drink water. You should drink water. Then you take water inside. What you put inside the body also exits the body.

The kidneys function the water that we drink and the kidneys actually wash. When you take your water, it washes your inside. You take a bottle and fill it with water and put the cap on and you shake it really well. Inside the bottle shakes, you know, and gets rid of all the junk and everything stuck on the walls there because they got water and they're just like a big bottle.

Then our kidneys, they excrete all the excess water that we don't need and that water has all the chemicals and whatever the body doesn't need dissolved in it. Drinking water is a natural way to detox. Just spread your water through the day, a glass before breakfast, a glass of water before lunch, a glass of water before dinner. Then you can put one when you get up, one after exercise, one at bedtime.

You can spread your water around a bit. The kidneys are very good for naturally taking water inside and eliminating it. Then you come to your solids. You eat the fiber.

You're supposed to eat fruits and vegetables and they have a lot of fiber and it's like a sponge. You rub and scrub the inside of your intestines. All the gaster, the intestinal tract, everybody's into detoxing and cleansing. You know what?

The body does it naturally. When you eat your food, which is supposed to be natural foods, the natural food will rub and scrub against the intestinal walls when food moves through the intestine. What you take inside the mouth, the oral cavity starts at the mouth and it cleans all the way through. The food is processed in the stomach and the intestines and all the nutrients are taken out of it.

Then the waste material is excreted through the body. The body actually is capable of cleaning the colon and everything from the mouth, stomach, small intestines, large intestines. You really do not need this very harsh chemical detox. Most people go for these colon cleansers.

It's quite unnecessary because nature does such a good job. If you feel that your kidneys and your colon isn't working properly, guess what? We have another system that detoxes and that's your skin. Yes, you perspire.

When you sweat, all these impurities, they come out. All the skin covering your body has pores. It's got very small, pin-sized holes, microscopic. Those are sweat pores and you sweat through the skin and all those impurities, they come out.

It's a wonderful way to detox. I was telling you take up some exercise. Take up walking your able body and take up walking in the park with your kids or take up swimming. Take up some exercise or get your treadmill before your detox.

You can run your treadmill when you see your favorite reruns and your favorite talk shows or TV shows. That exercise will make you sweat and the sweat will naturally make you detox and you don't have to invest in money into anything which is not natural because water is natural or meals or food is natural, sweat is natural. You use those natural mechanisms which pairs so well with exercise. It exercises moves the water, it moves the sweat so it moves everything in the body and all that junk and toxin that the body doesn't need is taken to the organs of excretion and it's released outside.

You think of that was enough. No, there's still another organ of excretion, a very major one and that's the lungs. Think about it but every time you breathe in, you breathe out and you're exhaling carbon dioxide and lots of all the gas that your body doesn't need are going through the lungs. You're constantly cleaning yourself.

I was telling you, your body is cleaning itself and you got to add in a little daily exercise and some movement, some physical movement. It doesn't have to be very strenuous. It can't be very mild just like walking down the hall or while you're at work, just get up and go get a glass of water and come back and drink it. You just get up and every two hours or every hour you just get up and stretch your legs.

If nothing else, just stand up, stretch your legs and I can sit back down again. That's very, very helpful is movement. When you move, the inside will also move and it will dislodge all which you want to get rid of and it goes through the organs of excretion and if you want that faster, all you got to do is a little exercise, a little walk, a little swim, get some physical activity. Then have to be much because my aim is to focus on less active people here and Luan is, she has an office job so she sits most of the day, she can walk but she chooses to just sit at her desk and because she's got that weekend detox coming which is going to do all the magic and I was like, you know, the magic doesn't happen all on the weekend detox that you have this little bite-sized magic pieces all along which is called exercise a physical movement.

If you need to, if nothing else, just stand up and get up on your toes and just go up and down on your toes because lots of women, they take their heels off and so they have their heels lying on the side, under their desk there and so this is a good exercise. Every hour, just stand up because the body stands on the feet just like the name of my show here, my house, my foundation. The house stands on a foundation, the walls in the roof are supported by that strong foundation so you take care of your body's foundation and you're listening to my house, my foundation on the BPM Global Network and Tune in Radio and I'm your host Dr. Maryam Murad and we'll be right back after this short break so stay tuned.

And I'm your host, Dr. Mary Moran. And today we're discussing how to include physical exercise into your life. And today we're discussing the life of Luan.

She's detoxing and how does exercise help during detox. And so we're looking into how natural exercise helps the body detox. And there's plenty of misconceptions out there with the media puts out. And so detox is a very new thing.

It's 1973 that detox came into existence. The word detox is only 1973. And so detox is aimed for women. Now it brings you to the thinking, to the thought that don't mend into detox or is detox is just for women.

But most of the commercial detox is sold in the market today are aimed specifically for women because we're emotional thinkers and you can convince us rather easily that we need to detox it. And women tend to have a little bit of extra weight rather than the men because our body structure is a little bit different. So it's easier to convince the women that they need to detox. And they have titles like what every woman should know about detoxing.

And detox, they tell us that women need to have these toxins that are in our food and we breathe them and they get into our bodies and we have to clean them. So there's lots of research and lots of convincing evidence that you need to clean. And all this junk is stuck inside of us because we don't move. So if we would just move a little bit and put some physical activity into daily lives, we wouldn't have so much necessary to detox.

And all this junk was sort of clean because we have our internal cleansing mechanisms. They work with water, they work with solids, they work with sweat, they work with the carbon dioxide through the lungs, the gas goes out through our breath, we exhale and we have four systems of excreation. So you got to use them and they're the best that our guests here today, Luan, our case study today, she feels that detox is what she needs. And that will solve her problem of being a little 20, 25 pounds overweight.

She just needs to detox and that will get all that stuck, good inside it weighs exactly 22, 25 pounds and when she's really good, she's going to settle in and she's going to get the healthy lifestyle. She's already found this treadmill that she's going to buy and she's going to put that in front of her television, come home from work in the evening, get on the treadmill and she's going to get 30 minutes of really heavy workout. And she's got the latest treadmill that has all the gadgets telling, all the pressures and all the measures there. She's got one which moves arms and legs at the same time and she's in for a very strenuous workout when she comes home.

But as soon as she finishes with this detox and these detox are a little bit controversial because most people, when they keep these detox diaries, it tends to drain them a little bit too much. They feel a little bit exhausted and that's why they say that you really don't need these detoxes but you cannot convince a woman that has made up her mind that what she needs is detox and she's going to do that detox. There's a new phrase that says, I've just been diagnosed with NCD. Now, NCD stands with no can do so they're not going to do any physical exercise but they're going to go do that detox and once a woman has decided that she's going to do that detox, there's no change in her mind.

Not only detox, people say that when you're detoxing, you need to detox the mind, body and soul. They really dig into you. Not only cleaning the physical toxins and germs from your body but you're also eliminating mental toxins, bad thoughts and toxic relationships. It detoxes more than you think you're in for the bargain of it.

Lots of detox there. You're not only detoxing physically, you're supposed to be your colon. You're supposed to get all that junk that you've eaten, those fast food burgers and whatever have you that you don't really need to detox. They put it even deeper to make a bigger sales.

Now, women are very easily convinced that you need to detox not only physically but mentally. Now, you detox all negative thoughts from your mind and everybody that toxic. No one talks negatively to you. You don't need to have anybody looking down or talking to you badly and any negative conversation just eliminate that person that's detox there.

Any relationship that's bad, get rid of that person, just detox it. Actually, that's a very unnatural situation because we don't really live in a world where we can delete every bad person and every bad thought and every bad germ from our body because our body needs some of those intestinal bacteria. They're good for us. Some of our friends who are our best critics, we need them.

Strong criticism and good criticism is good for us. You can't really get rid of your husband. Most people, as soon as they want to eliminate negativity from their life, the first thing that goes is poor husband and relationships are made to last a lifetime. You need to take the ups and downs in a logical and realistic manner.

Ladies, they take the word detox to greatness, which you really should not. That's because we're emotionally charged and we just need to clean. We're really on the clean side. But you see the body, it doesn't really need what the media tells us to.

If you look at the body, we don't need these drastic steps to detox. The body does a good job on itself. We got the kidneys. They clean the water through our system.

It goes through the entire body. So every cell, all you got to do is drink water and sufficient water and then you got to move. You got to put some physical exercise there. If nothing else, you exercise the foot.

So if you're at your desk, just stand on your tiptoes and go up and down by the hour. Just do five or ten of those up and down. Does that make you sweat but it gets the blood flowing? That's a liquid part inside your body that the kidneys will clean.

Come lunchtime, you have a fiber. If you don't take any fiber, take an apple or cucumber. There's a lot of other things. I'm a professor there.

And we'll continue with our discussion on My House, My Foundation, on the BBM Global Network and Tune in Radio. And I'm your host, Dr. Maryam Murad. And we'll be right back after this short break.

So stay tuned. Patricia Fae, whether Harlow is passionate about the environment and conserving our natural resources. She's written a five-part book series for all ages called Rock with Rodney and Party with Perky to Preserve Wildlife, which brings awareness through these vibrant characters, preserving and protecting our national parks and historic landmarks. Harlow has launched a campaign to mobilize green supporters, informing a united front against big oil, big coal, and the Keystone XL pipeline.

Thank you. Welcome friends. Welcome back to my house, my foundation on the BPM Global Network and tuning radio. I'm your host, Dr.

Maryam Maran. And today we're talking about detox and exercise and physical activity. And do you really need those detoxes or can it be accomplished by drinking water and having good food and simply adding in a little physical activity spread throughout the day? And you know, when you look at it, most people do these detoxes on the weekend and that's when you're supposed to rest.

And when you do these detoxes, boy, I tell you, it's very stressful on the body because you push in large amounts of chemicals, which is not food and the body is not accustomed to that large amounts of extra chemicals that you're putting in, which is supposed to clean. And as a woman, we really like to clean. You know, if it was possible, we'd get in with a steel brush and a steel scrub and rub all that grime and grit out. And I tell you, nature is such a beautiful job at it that you really don't have to worry.

All you got to do is drink water, eat the proper food and do some physical exercise. Yes, that's a secret. It's little physical activity spread throughout the day. And that's the aim of my show to teach you that the basic that you can do, like the house stands on a foundation.

You stand on your foundation. So if nothing else, you got to walk, you got to use your feet. So if you're able, body like our guest is today, Luen, every hour stand up and walk around if possible and just walk. So you don't need anything, no gadgets.

You don't need any special sports shoes or sports equipment. You don't need a personal trainer. You just need to put in that small physical activity. And for those people that have knee problems like my mother did for whom I made my program and those that have health conditions, what you need to do is you need to exercise the foot.

So when you stand up, your foot will be able to take your body weight and you'll be able to walk. So you need to keep that foot strength and you need to maintain the foot and lower leg strength. So any exercise that you can do is good. And there is a program which is also available on my website.

So if people want to get that, it's movementisblessit.com. And I put it in easy terms for the average person to understand. And you know, there was, there's this very interesting word that I came across. It's called accident, you know.

But when you eat a snack by accident, it's called a snack-sident. And that is a proper known snack-sident. And it's defined as eating a family size bar of chocolate entirely by mistake. So it's quite humorous, actually.

So you got to have a family size bar of chocolate, but entirely by mistake and snack-sident. Boy, I mean, yeah. So our English language is actually changing. Just like the topic of today's show is detox.

It's a relatively new word. And it came into existence 1973, according to the dictionary. And at the same time, so did the word antisellular. We didn't have that before.

And the snack-sident, this is definitely a new word. And nobody was eating a family size, the chocolate bar entirely by mistake. So if you eat that, you enjoy it. And here's another quote that I read that if you lost your appetite today, I think I've got it.

You know, people kind of feel guilty when they eat a little chocolate or have a little sweet snack or they satisfy their dessert, you know, their sweet tooth. But the thing is that enjoy it. Take small bites and enjoy it. And once I was in Switzerland and they were teaching how to eat chocolate properly.

So they have the European chocolates are small in size. And you're not supposed to gobble the whole thing down. You're supposed to bite half of it. Enjoy it.

And then you bite the second half of it and enjoy that. So the small chocolate you enjoy. First you eat half of it, then you eat the second half of it. And you just take one piece, you know, just one piece and you enjoy it.

And it's not low-cal or zero sugars or no fat. It's got everything in it. Because you have to put the sugar in the butter, the cream and then it tastes good. So some of these local foods, they don't really satisfy you.

So that's what people go for more. They have to have more quantity of it. But the thing is you need to balance out your food and take and your exercise. And you know, something very interesting on detox is a very common detox engine, which people haven't really heard about is coffee.

Could you believe that? Coffee, people use that as a detox and are when that's what she uses. You know, coffee is like her grandma's, her mom, they use coffee because it's relatively inexpensive and it's generally lying around the kitchen anyway. So you use coffee to detox and coffee.

We enjoy it, you know, it's a cup of coffee in the morning. But if you take it stronger and you take a little bit more, then it has different effects on the body and people use it to detox. And coffee, they've got the saying of OCD. That's an obsessive coffee disorder.

And then I read another one that says coffee doesn't ask you questions. Coffee understands what that's like, so coffee understands. And there's another quote that says, too much Monday, not enough coffee. That just moves the Mondays out, too much coffee, not enough coffee.

And then caffeine in the coffee. It says caffeine maintains my silky personality. That's nice to know coffee sort of understands. So we have all these funny jokes about detoxing and about overweight people.

And you enjoy the humor in it. But the truth is that you may laugh for a moment, but inside is very sad and it's very depressing because no one wants to be overweight and no one wants to have a dirty body. We all like to be clean. And the truth being that the best way is the natural way, the best way is the healthy way, which you use the body's own mechanisms.

You use the own mechanisms that the body uses to consume the food, consume the water, and it metabolizes it. We have our body organs. And one thing that people fail to understand is that our body is interconnected. So you cannot take one organ like the colon cleanser and we're going to clean and it's going to take all the junk out.

Every food that we've eaten that we shouldn't have eaten is going to clean it out. You know, our insides, it doesn't work that way. They're all interconnected. So you can't say that one system, I'm going to clean my colon and that's going to take all the toxins out because our body is interconnected.

It works together. So all the systems, they support one another and nutrition goes all over the body. So what you eat spreads all around the body, all the body benefits from it, what you drink goes all over the body. It's hydrated.

So naturally it's always the best. And that's the purpose of my show to put in one simple exercise to show Luan today that she really does not need to go through these very harsh detoxes. The body does it naturally. What you focus on is a healthy lifestyle change.

And we'll continue with our discussion on My House, My Foundation, on the VVM Global Network and Tune in Radio. And I'm your host, Dr. Mary Merad. So stay tuned and we'll be right back.

Welcome friends. Welcome back to My House, My Foundation, on the VVM Global Network and Tune in Radio. Welcome back to My House, My Foundation, and I'm your host, Dr. Mary Merad.

And in today's show, we're talking to Luan. She's a 38-year-old, well-educated into the health and wellness field. She's a mother of two and she's about 25 pounds overweight. And she has decided to do this serious detox.

And she does these weekend detoxes. And I'm trying to talk to her and tell her that, you know, what you really need is something to change in your daily life. And that's the secret of success is found in your daily routine. And what you need is to add in some physical movement, because you eat the food and food is coupled with exercise.

You take the food, it has to move through the body, and you have to move externally to get the internal organs stimulated to move. If you don't move externally, internally the body doesn't move. It sort of slows down. It goes hand in hand, the outside and the inside.

So the best thing is to detox every minute of the day. Naturally, I was telling Luan, don't you want to exercise? And that will get you a detox naturally 24 hours a day. And she was surprised, it really does.

I said, sure, the heart beats 24 hours. You know, the heart beats and blood flows in. And yes, what cleans you on the inside, just like we have house pipes or body pipes. We have water flowing in our house pipes.

We got blood flowing in our body pipes and blood flows through all the organs. And every organ it cleans it. And not only does it clean it, the bad blood out, the good blood in. At the same time, it brings a nutrition.

So you're not only cleaning, you're nourishing at the same time. So I was telling her, you need to focus on drinking water and eating good food coupled with physical activity. And she works. So I understand you don't want to do a complete workout at lunchtime.

And every hour, just stand up, wherever you are. You can't go for a walk. Just stand up and sit down. So there's movement.

You got to move physically. And if you can't just take a walk around the room or just go get a glass of water. You need that physical activity. Just like the house stands in the foundation.

The body stands on its foundation. And that's the purpose of my show. If you don't focus on everything, you want to focus on the minimum. Because life is sort of overwhelming and overbearing for most of us.

And we've got a lot of stress and strain coming from every direction. And health and fitness is on top of everybody's list. But we really don't take enough action. So the minimum that you can do is to have strong feet.

Because the body stands on the foot. You want to be mobile, ambulatory and active. And just put it in bite-sized pieces. So the heart beats the blood flows and eat good food.

And there you have it. You got your natural detox there with you. So that was the purpose of our show to bring in a woman who focuses more on detox. So exercise is not there.

No. But she needs this detox. So hopefully when we talk to her, I sort of explained to her the need for physical activity. That's the outside.

You move the inside. So it's all coupled together. You can't say I'll eat what I want on the weekdays. And on the weekend I'll do this week at detox.

And it's going to balance out. The best thing is a little bite-sized pieces along the way. And so that is the purpose of my show today to highlight and Luan. One woman, bring her to see that natural exercise is the best.
