My Inner Monologue

from PODcakes · host Ian Fridell

This marks the most authentic, exposed, and genuine version of myself after a long battle with depression that led to an attempted suicide. Constructing this video proved to be the most challenging endeavor I've ever undertaken. Delving into the depths of my emotions, it became a poignant struggle to revisit and relive the most arduous period of my life. Encountering my friend Chris, also known as Critter Moto, and witnessing his bravery in openly addressing his battle against depression, while becoming an advocate for men's mental health, inspired me to step forward. I realized it was time to reassure others that discussing struggles, depression, and thoughts of suicide is acceptable. Seeking help is not a sign of weakness but a display of strength. It's time to eradicate the stigma associated with the "Man Card" and acknowledge that therapy is an act of resilience. It is time for me to advocate for Men's Mental Health as well. Following the trail that Chris blazed for the world, men's mental health has become a cause close to my heart. Participating in the "Get lost...find yourself" Dual Sport Adventure Motorcycle Camp Out, a fundraising event for HeadsUPguys, a Canadian men's mental health organization, left an indelible mark on me. This extraordinary gathering raised nearly $4000 for HeadsUPGuys. In this video, I interweave footage from the event, along with vlogs and raw and vulnerable interview with myself, capturing the essence of this profound experience.
