A "lamp to my feet" in the ancient world wasn’t a stadium light; it was a small, handheld clay oil lamp. It provided just enough light to see the very next stepright in front of you so you wouldn't trip over a rock or stumble into a ditch in the darkness. This represents immediate guidance. It's the light you need for the single step right in front of you. It keeps you from tripping over immediate obstacles, traps, or uneven ground in your daily life.
