My Lords Way by Kai-Anne Clews
from Original Christian Poetry · host Kai-Anne Clews
My Lord was not locked with chains of steel, But by bonds of love, tied by His own will. My Lord was not restrained with rope, But bound by the blessed and eternal hope. My Lord, His life, was not forcibly sold, But He gave His life, for His wayward fold. My Lord! My Love! Oh, Mystery… He came to die to set us free. The Beloved gave freely, what they thought they took, His gentle silence, hard mistook… Most beautiful, innocent, kind, humble man, my Lord! Lived in obedience to a higher plan, restored. He descended down the steepest fall, Into Hell itself, He broke its wall. He then resurrected to His body again, As proof, alive, over deaths dark shame. From thence Ascending the mighty road, To the Fathers Throne, went He alone. To take the seat at His right hand, And offer this passage to the likes of man. From thence our Lord will descend, At the very end, to conclude the story. He came once in poverty, The second time, He comes in Glory. Strong amassed with all His Saints, To crash again on Hells hot gates. To divide those who would accept His grace, From those who refuse and deny His face.
