My Music Episode 176 - Sandi Glowe

from My Music · host Graham Coath

Graham Coath talks music with Sandi Glowe for My Music. Sandi Glowe is a 25-year-old Italian singer songwriter and guitarist. She was born and lived in Rome up until the age of 19, when she decided to take a step into the unknown and moved to Manchester, living there for 4 years in order to expand her musical experience. Sandi began writing songs on guitar at the age of 16, but states that her real musical journey started in Manchester. It was a journey that saw her go from simply looping melancholic guitar melodies in her bedroom to working in tandem with producers with opposite influences (synth-pop and pop-punk). These collaborations resulted in an original and always-evolving sound ranging from synth/art pop to slowcore/dream pop and taking inspiration from artists such as Caroline Polachek, Kate Bush, Cigarettes After Sex, John Frusciante and Radiohead. Recurring themes within the lyrics of Sandi’s songs include self-reflection, dreams, fear, pain, duality, the harmony of the opposites. Sandi has since returned to Rome after her sojourn in Manchester to pursue a career in neuroscience research, but maintains her personal and musical connection with England, returning to the country to record her music in Manchester.
